(Question) How Steemit verify user's password without servers?

in #steemit7 years ago (edited)

Hi guys, while most people is focusing the reward system of Steemit by using blockchain technology, I am more interested in what makes Steemit work. As far as I can understand, Steemit is a blogging platform built on top of blockchain technology, it must involve private & public keys similar to how Bitcoin works. In Bitcoin blockchain, both the private & public keys are fixed & match to each other, so the transaction can be verified without a database.

However on Steemit, the users could change their master passwords anytime, how does Steemit bind a fixed username to a flexible password without a database like other conventional account like Gmail or Apple accounts? Hope someone can help all users including myself in understanding the mechanic under hood of this amazing technology. Thanks.
