VINYL SHOWCASE VOL. 7
RUSH - CLOCKWORK ANGELS 🇨🇦 The grand masters of prog rock! It’s amazing that after 40 years they can still put out such high quality music. I’m pretty sure this will be the final album Rush make, it sounds like Neil Peart doesn’t want to continue and you can’t really replace a drummer of that caliber. I don’t think Rush ever did a tour of Australia. It would be nice if they did one final world tour before calling it a day.
Chris Stapleton - From A Room Vol.2 - Brilliant album! It’s great to see a huge resurgence of quality blues and country music coming out of late.
ROMAN ACUPUNCTURE by BÖLZER - one of the most interesting bands out there! Just 2 people. A 10 string guitar and drums. Nordic folk influence with black metal and prog. They sorta have a bit of a Mastodon meets Enslaved
“IN BATTLE THERE IS NO LAW!” The debut album from the mighty BOLT THROWER! One of the earliest and most influential Death Metal bands. I always love their constant rhythms and catchy riffs. Great workout music!
Sabbath Worship. Day 8: “NEVER SAY DIE!” - the final Sabbath album to feature the original lineup. Probably the weakest album in their catalogue. Drugs and partying had caught up with the band. Ozzy had quit then re-joined. Apparently there’s another almost complete Sabbath album with another singer that will probably never be released. Ozzy didn’t want to sing any of the songs they had written without him. The title track “Never Say Die!” Is a great song but most the others seem a little tired and unenthusiastic. I do however love the album art. And honestly I haven’t given this album a thorough listen in awhile so maybe I will find more songs I dig? Farewell Black Sabbath. I still have hopes they will do another performance with Bill Ward and maybe even an album. But I highly doubt it will happen...
