Bitcoin fork and why I am involved !

The 1st of August has always been one to remember and it is not because I knew about the fork years ago its because it is my mothers birthday so I had to remember !

This year the 1st of August took on a different meaning as it signified a split in Bitcoin, the reason why this resonated with me is the fact that I knew about it . It felt fantastic to be involved in cryptocurrency history having only got involved a few months ago. I had watched a few Keiser Reports (@keiserreport) and had known about Bitcoin for a few years but always bulked at the price at the time which was $200. The reason why I didn't do it is I though you had to buy a whole coin. Having missed out on this opportunity I got involved buying some Litecoin, then Bitcoin and finally Ethereum. I then bought some Bitcoins and sent them to Bitrex and have now started trading making a lot of mistakes but learning so much.

Ethically I find myself wrestling between the greedy trader side of me and the ethical decentralized crypto ambassador. Like most people it is an awesome rush to look at the markets see a sea of green and see your money rising in value. You give yourself a mental high five and simultaneous ego stroke cause this shows how fucking smart you are and how you guessed the trend (even though a lot of it is just the market not you , you egotistical prick).

On the other hand I like telling friends and family about crypto currency and how it works. It is frustrating but ultimately rewarding when you see the cogs in the brain beginning to whir with enthusiasm (excuse the heavy embellishment) .The important thing I feel is to not get to carried away. This is a fiat money making market and for all the nice people I have seen commenting and giving analysis there are also assholes driving up the prices for their own gain. Lets not lose sight of the main goal here which is to bolster a decentralized monetary system. A glistening example of this is that while Bitcoin forked on the 1st of August and people debated buying and selling Bit Cash, I was experiencing my own intellectual euphoria. This is because it as mentioned it was my mothers birthday and I had managed to send some bitcoin to my brother in law in New Zealand to buy her a good bottle of wine for her birthday. This is what made my research all worth it while the alt crypto currency rising also helped smear my shit eating grin.
