A DAPP Idea For Turning Suburbia Into A Local Food Mecca

Backyard Garden

Last year I published an article entitled “Let’s Turn Suburbia Into A Local Food Mecca” that received thousands of views and hundreds of shares within the first 24 hours. I then published it on Steemit a couple months ago and it continued it’s success there as well.

The article is about spreading Masanobu Fukuoka's 'Natural Farming' methods to surburban backyards specifically.

The response from publishing this article was very encouraging and so I started brainstorming on what I could do to help faciliate this idea and make it flourish. That’s when I thought about creating an open source DAPP to help connect landowners and natural farmers to each other.

Here’s how I thought it could work:

A homeowner or landowner that has more money than time, decides to hire a natural farmer to grow food on their land by square yardage. They would search by city on the YardBounty dapp to see how many natural farmers there are nearby to help. They browse the local natural farmers and see one has a 99% reputation score and click hire. At this point the homeowner would make a recurring monthly payment using either bitcoin, ether, steemit or or it's own crypto-coin that they can cancel at anytime.

The homeowner’s profile also has a reputation score, so the natural farmer can choose not to do business with homeowner’s with a low reputation score.

If any dispute between the two parties arises, then we’ll need the help of a 3rd user called an ‘arbiter’. I thought this could function like how it does with OpenBazaar. Anybody can join to be an arbiter on the app and earn money for providing dispute resolution services. The arbiter’s profile also has a reputation score.

Last but not least, there is the 4th user; the affiliate or sales agent. This user is rewarded for signing up both natural farmers, homeowners, arbiters and other sales agents. This makes sure that the DAPP has a marketing team and that more people know about it today than did yesterday.

As for fees, the DAPP would only take 1% to help keep DAPP developers paid. Money earned will be paid out to developers tackling issues on Github ala GitMoney.

Any feedback or constructive criticism is welcome! I plan on starting this Github project as soon as I have a basic website up. Follow me here on Steemit to hear more about this project!
