How Do We Cope In Our Understanding That We Cannot Help Everyone On The Blockchain Who Is In Need? - Looking for Answers As It Is Becoming A Little Distressing...
I am receiving more and more direct messages on discord from people who tell me they are in great need and suffering extreme poverty and are seeking a little assistance.
Often I find their profile check their wallet transactions in order to verify that they seem to be who they claim to be and invariably they seem genuine.
Some of you may be aware or even remember a few causes that I tried to support early on in my blockchain journey both here and also on that other platform. There is much injustice in the world enormous grades of inequality and many are indeed living in circumstances that are appalling by most acceptable standards.
The following may sound like virtue signalling but I assure you it is a very real issue for me and one I am finding increasingly difficult.
It is more than true that we cannot help everybody and if you will forgive my pace change of language, I gotta say...
That sucks!!!
Having said that, it changes nothing, not the way I feel, not the extreme circumstances that many are living right now and not the injustice of the planet. So what is the answer? Do we stroll on by, avoid eye contact and enjoy the rest of our day safe in the knowledge that we didn't see it? I can not keep sending small Paypal amounts to those struggling ((I found that they ended up becoming larger payments once combined)) it will eat me alive and at one stage it began to be a real issue for me. I had a modest amount set aside to buy crypto... I work hard, do not live a lavish life and love the idea of being able to help but the amount that I saved up for crypto disappeared due to small amounts of aid.
In many ways I may have diminished my ability to help as a bigger up-share amount may have helped more people. Quite the quandary, right?
It has gotten the the point that I am now finding it a little distressing to see the messages as I have had to start saying NO! I always follow this up with a review of the persons blockchain activities and offer them advice to grow much faster, based on what I can deduce from their activities on the platform(s).
This advice does not feed their kids though, right?
Many of us here have made many friends from Venezuela and have heard some heartbreaking stories of the conditions the people there find themselves in due to hyperinflation. This happens when governments keep on printing money to solve the debt crises they find themselves in... The net result is pieces of almost worthless paper pretending to act as currency.
Left unchecked and without a solid plan to increase GDP conditions rapidly decline, basic foodstuff prices escalate to nonsensical levels and people are left unable to afford what little food remains on the shelves of the stores.
I remember hearing a news story about ten years ago about a loaf of bread in Zimbabwe doubling in price every single day until it had increased by tens of millions of Zimbabwe dollars. When I was a child many people used to holiday/vacation in Yugoslavia, most people are old enough to remember the massive conflicts in Yugoslavia that eventually splintered and became several new states, you will likely be most familiar with Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia but there are several more. The crisis in Yugoslavia was also pre-empted by massive hyperinflation.
Inflation serves a very real purpose but in the hands of negligent or corrupt...
I am not entirely sure about the point of this post as I know that any answer provided will not quite cut it!
I think maybe I am just ranting about something that stinks because I can, because I have this platform. I could set up an initiative, but I know that is far too early in my development here for that, it would fizzle away to nothing in short order. I'm sure that many of you have watched the birth of similar projects and watched them die in equally quick time would agree. I reckon that when I have more of a name here. This will be a project to create and oversee. If I get out of my job later this year which is a goal of mine this will be an incredibly rewarding plan, but obviously very time intensive.
The real truth of course is that none of us should have to worry about this... Global governments caused the problem and they of course should fix it before further hardship is caused. No child should ever be left to starve or suffer poverty related illness or be denied medical treatment!
What the hell are we to do?☹️
