Bharat Tea Estate
The first location we visited at Cameron Highlands was the Bharat Tea Estate, also known as Cameron Valley Tea. It is one of the first few locations you'll pass by while driving to Tanah Rata. They have 2 Tea Houses that can be easily found online by searching Cameron Valley Tea House 1 or 2. We visited the second tea house and parked by the side of the road as there were many other visitors. I had to go to the toilet after we had parked and was quickly greeted by a scenic view.
When I was done with my business, I stayed in my toilet cubicle for a while just to enjoy the view. I really like how on the left side, it's the tea plantation whilst on the right it's the untouched nature. And there I have boldly red bunga raya’s (hibiscus) in front of me. I mean come on! It's a really nice view just for a toilet!!
We paid RM2 per person to enter the tea fields. They have fenced up areas for you to walk, take pictures and touch the tea leaves. There are many though who go beyond the fence to stand between the tea bushes and take pictures.
I really did enjoy the view there and it's amazing to see fifty shades of green. Feeling the cool breeze while enjoying nature was very relaxing. It makes me want to retire in a peaceful mountain side, seeing nature as far as my eye can see.
We also had snacks at the tea house. We ordered a pandan pound cake, a mocha pound cake and masala chai. The cakes were okay, they were a little bit dry; the pandan flavoured one though was really fragrant and flavourful. The tea was wonderful. It was a perfect match of warming you up in such cold weather.
