STEEMPAYMENTS First Steem payment gateway 'alpha stage' public testing!

in #steem8 years ago (edited)

Hi Steemians!

As told in my previous post i'm working on the first Steem payment provider.

I've wanted to show you a very basic proof of concept that i've managed to create a gateway that can easily be integrated on any website running basic PHP+Ajax (Most of them, that is.)

The source will be open for everyone, and the gateway does not rely on any wallet to avoid scammy services.

Hookup to any public node, and you're good to start accepting Steem!

The next step is to publish the source once i've cleaned up the code and convert it to shopping cart modules.
This ensures anyone could start accepting STEEM with just a few clicks, zero knowledge needed!

For those who read my introduction post, and those who didn't, i'm NOT a graphical guy!
Notepad++ is my toolbox, so don't expect some fancy layout at this stage. Functionality above style ;)

By the end of the weekend, mid next week, the source will be published and a full working demo website will be online, using dollar to steem conversion rates.

I hope to join forces with guys like @xeroc to bring you the best opensource payment gateway!

Keep on Steeming

great idea - i'd advise to add https only support - an ssl certificate - u can make use of www.letsencrypt.org

Awsome, thanks for the vote and the feedback!

and let me know if i can of any assistance for getting a kick ass logo for your service :)
Just ping me then.

Like my 4 minutes logo? It will do for now, i'll make a nice contest for a fancy logo once the coding is completed.

Hook up with me and @xeroc and @stan to discuss potential. We are doing some very interesting things...

Will do, see you in chatroom?

Woooho @steve-walschot I´m waiting for your final work.
Invite you to check my post https://steemit.com/steem/@alefernandez/3y6kdk-you-can-buy-chocolate-with-steem I´m working to include STEEM as payment form. Go on with yout work.

Just tested it and it works great!!
And as for the "You still need to compare the transfered amount to the required amount on your website!" I can try and get a solution to that if you haven't found it already :D

Thanks! Well, it's up to the webshop to verify the amounts by calling the - well - callback URL.
I'm working on server-side validation as well BUT the goal is to have a decentralized payment gateway.

In theory, this means the payment gateway should not rely on anything or anyone to be functional, so the end user needs to verify the amount payed against the amount he requested.

Amount verification will be included for services that run on our own node of course

We desperately need this because currently a lot of bloggers are earning Steem Dollars with no way to spend them because demand for Steem Dollars is too low for the supply.

I fully agree with you!

Wow!! This thing is evolving faster than a pokemon!! :D
great work! cheers :)

If you wish more people to test your payment why don't you put it at .001 sbd. Do you expect people to just send you 1 SBD? This to me, looks more of a scamming attempts then anything else. You already tested it with your account sending multiple times 0.001 sbd to your steempayments account, so you could have kept it there. It looks like you just want to have hundreds of people send you money while they wait for your "demo website" . Prove me wrong but so far this is a scam attempt.

Sure, feel free to put in 0.001 or even 0.00001. Like i said before in my post, i'm a coder - That 1 SDB should not even be there anymore, it was to test my fixed amounts :) Correcting as we speak.

I'm adding steempayments to my list and will update it on steemitup.com if you don't mind! Read about steemitup here if you wish https://steemit.com/steemitup/@kuriko/introducing-http-www-steemitup-com
