How to choose the right colors for branding - mystery of colors busted!

Humans are visually stimulated and mostly recall visual memory than any other and for this reason colors play an important role in branding as a company or professional.

Every color has certain special significance to it based on the senses it stimulate hence it it important to know the representations of colors so as to use them correctly to communicate your brand's message.

In today's post I will explain the significance of each color and what they often represent in people's minds. Please not that these assertions are based on popular opinion but may vary from community to community. Enjoy.


The color BLUE:

The color blue is mostly used by the financial institutions and represents trust, solidness, trustworthiness, dependability, fiscally responsible and secure. 


The color RED:

The color red generally standards for affection, warmth hospitality and passion. Did your know that the color red actually activate the pituitary gland thereby increasing the rate of heart beat and increasing your pace of heart beat.


The color GREEN:

Green is a color for freshness, health and serenity. Believe it or not, nature is more green than blue. Deep green can be used to present wealth, and prestige. Green lights are know to be calming.


The color Yellow:

Universally, the color yellow is associated with the sun which translates into light, warn and radiance. Did you know that the eyes sees the color yellow before any other color? With good reason is yellow used in attention critical areas such as hazard notifications and point of sale displays. Yellow stimulates positivity and energy.


The color PURPLE:

Purple is a color which has some mysticism to it. It is associated with spirituality, sophistication as well as royalty. Lavender evokes nostalgia and sentimentality.


The color PINK:

The color pink radiates energy, fun, excitement and youthfulness. Dusty pinks appear sentimental. Lighter pinks are more romantic.


The color ORANGE:

The color orange is seen a s childish and gregarious. Orange evokes exuberance and vitality. Lighter shades appeal to an upscale market. Peach tones work well with health care, restaurants and beauty salons. 


The color BROWN:

Brown represent the earth and is associated with simplicity, durability and stability. Terracotta shade of the color brown can convey upscale look.


The color BLACK

Black represents serious, bold, powerful and classic. The color create drama and connotes sophistication. It is associated with expensive and top quality products though somethings it makes products look heavy.


The color WHITE:

The color represents simplicity, cleanliness and purity. The human eye views white as a brilliant color, so it immediately catches the eye in signage. White is often used with infant and health-related products.
