Hope you are all well.
I was doing some Coffee and Curating of #thediarygame and #theshoppinggame challenges earlier and while I was reading your Blogs it got me thinking.
As most of you will know, I am a huge fan of #thediarygame and #theshoppinggame challenges by @steemitblog as part of their #the100daysofsteem project and like everyone else I have seen these games take off like a rocket.
Without wishing to interfere in the direction and the vision of where @steemitblog and the Steemit Team are looking to take these projects, it made me think.
Why stop at just #thediarygame and #theshoppinggame?

Why not re-invent #Steem as a Social Media Game?
Sure, there are hundreds of #dApps that are now leveraging the #Steem Protocol and accessing the Blockchain from their front-ends, this will not change.
However, what I am suggesting is re-branding the concept of #Steem.
Logo and concept will remain unchanged
#Steem is #Steem and there is no changing that, but what if the image of #Steem was changed?
I am not talking about a logo change or conceptual change, these are perfect and should remain exactly as they are.
What I am talking about is to change the promotion of #Steem and what it can be used for.
Making onboarding to #Steem so much easier
By making the concept of #Steem easy for people to under without them having to have a degree in "Computer Science" will make onboarding them to #Steem so much easier.
Telling people it's a Game will be so much easier to get them onboard.
Forget about all the Blockchain mumbo jumbo.!!
Forget about all the Blockchain mumbo jumbo and confusion as to what #Steem can do and simply promote #Steem as a Game where people earn #Steem by simply interacting with other Players.
Sure, there will always be: Blogging, Voting, Commenting, Posting etc. but what would change is the image of what #Steem is.

I personally think that the driven curating direction from Steemit Inc. is great, as they are partly influencing the interaction on the blockchain.
It is a really great tool to onboard people on Steem and keep them active and have fun and if the resources allow it, Steemit Inc. should try to keep it permanently.
But in general, I don't know what the results would be if we change the whole blockchain token economy to a platform that is focused only on events.
Gamifying the Platform, YES, but concentrating and shifting the whole platform only on reward based events, hmmm...
Still love the brainstorming from your side as a concept of branding the image of Steem in a different way. :)
I think your idea is really great...Steem being a video game will help get more people on board and keep them engrossed in its activities.
Personally, from my little knowledge of blockchain and stuff, I would have found steemit more interesting as a video game though it is still fun to be here.
I'm a newbie here with little experience of blockchains and yes, the steemit world but I really look forward to finding new horizons
