Regular readers of my Blog will know I love delving around old film footage for clips relating to the 1960's, 1970's, 1980's and 1990's Technology Revolution to share on STEEMIT.

Earlier on I came across this short video that looks into the origins of the First Computer.

Born in 1966

As a child born in 1966, I was always fascinated with Technology and would on many occasions rush home from school and build circuit boards from scratch out of electronic components I bought with my pocket money.

Growing up in the 1970's was a very exciting time when it came to technology, and this has not been matched for over +35 years.

Things are about to change however and history is set to repeat itself..!!

The "birth of software".

As the description of the video mentions, this was a flagship moment in the 1940's, described by some as the "birth of software".

On June 21st 1948 the Small Scale Experimental Machine, nicknamed the "Manchester Baby", became the first computer to run a program electronically stored in its memory.

BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY

As I mentioned above, history is about to repeat itself with Blockchain Technology replacing the role of the "birth of software" by replicating the ground breaking revolution of the 1970's..!!

This is an awesome short video and well worth watching.

Thanks again for reading and watching.

Cool video Stephen, thanks for sharing!

Fascinating to watch these pieces of history... and then consider just how FAR we've come in such a short spam of time.

Manchester has contributed so much to the history of computing - Alan Turing did most of his work there.

Great post, followed.
