AVOID LOOKING BACK

But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt. (Genesis 19:26)

This verse is of the story of Lot, Abrahams’ nephew and his family, whom the Lord God delivered from the impending judgement on Sodom and Gomorrah; cities whose iniquities arose before the Lord. The Lord asked them to leave the city and not turn back. But Lot’s wife looked back and became a pillar of salt for her disobedience to that instruction from God.

In all of scripture, nothing better came out of people who turned their backs on the instructions given of the Lord to rather move forward. One of the things that destroyed the Israelites who died in the wilderness was their desire to turn back to Egypt.
