CHOSEN VESSELS
But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: (Acts 9:15)
The Lord described Paul as a chosen vessel unto Him. Vessels speak of containment. Containers are mostly specific for their content. Not every bottle can contain an acid; it may melt. Vessels are made to be able to rightly contain their content.
We are made in the image of God to be vessels that contain God. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. (2 Cor. 4:7). The earthen vessels are made of clay. Treasures are rich assets of nations, families or communities, an example is gold. Clay stands for something despised, worthless or weak. Yet this clay contains something treasured. Therefore, the value of a vessel is not of itself but its content.
Though the outward man may perish but inwardly there's an excellency of power. This is Christianity; that gold (glory) will be contained in clay and be made precious. “.... Christ in us, the hope of glory” ( Colossians 1:27). Hallelujah!!!
DECREE
I'm chosen by God to show forth his praise. Regardless of my past, God still loves me and has made me a light in my world. I'm full of heavenly deposits of divine treasures. Hallelujah.
