Weekend Photos

Yesterday @landonator and I headed out to get some running around done. On our way home we stopped down by the waterfront to play on the slide. This was also the first day the bay has been open since it froze over. I remember seeing something about it in the news, but because it was french, I didn't really pick up 100% of what they were saying.

From what I gathered, the town was upset because the coast guard was no longer going to be breaking up the ice in the spring unless they needed to. I don't know why this is an issue, unless it's to keep people off the ice after a certain date. So, they mad a big fuss about it and put it in the news. Sure enough, the next day all the ice is broken up.

I could care less if they do this, but it does give a positive feeling that spring/summer is just around the corner.

The town also put in these stupid looking joysticks along the waterfront. They look absolutely rediculos, but I took a picture of them anyway. Typical Quebec - they bitch about having to pay to have the ice broken up, but don't mind spending probably $100k on some giant joysticks for the waterfront. I mean, the money's already stolen so why not spend it on some stupid shit to rub it in everyone's faces, right?

So this morning, @landonator gets up nice and early, gets me to get him breakfast, goes and starts a bath on his own, gets me to dress him up, then proceeds to start putting on his boots to go outside. I think I told him the day before that we would be taking the dogs out today, so I guess he was looking forward to that. I wasn't expecting to get them out by 8:30 in the morning, though. It was a really nice day; only -3 and it was still early in the morning. Spring is one it's way.

The snow is rock solid right now. The weather has been back and forth between the pluses and the minuses for almost two weeks so it's really packed the snow down. It's so solid we were able walk on it without any snowshoes and I didn't fall through once.

You know that refreshing feeling you get when you stand on grass for the first time in months? That's what's happening in this picture. Soon enough I'll be having to mow it; I hate mowing grass.

More great shots and the snow is still looking fairly deep. Don't miss it at all now that we are into spring--although it's still freezing. Those two balls looking down the bay look like a giant placed mega-pins on a map.

These are really nice pictures! I live in South America so I've never seen snow irl but i'm just amazed to see how much "white" is in these pictures and I start daydreaming about playing in snow, hahahah.

That dream would turn into a nightmare after you deal with it for a little while. I'd love to live somewhere where I never had to see snow again.

Well, Canada is pretty far up north so I can see why you see snow as a nightmare hahahaha. I'd love to live somewhere where it's always cold because I truly hate this tropical wack weather.

Ha...a typical reply from us 'snow' battlers of the north stephen.king; although you're a lot further north than me.

Nice post my friend

@stephen.king989 cool, very impressive post for me ... I really hope you taught me and I am very good for your suggestion and criticism.

Very good view... Nature

Beautiful photos...those artistic orbs might be some secret governmental monitoring devices...They're worried about the Russians sneaking across the Bering Straight?
