Dinosaur footprints on the beach, Broome, Western Australia

By @stephen-somers

One of the world most extensive examples of dinosaur footprints can be found along over 70km of beach along the coast near Broome, a small town in the very isolated North West of Western Australia. There are over 20 identified species including the giant Brontosaurus. This one footprint is almost 80cm across with some big enough for me to lay down in... with room to spare.

I actually got to tick off 2 items in my bucket list this day, one was seeing the dinosaur footprints but the way we reached Red Point was incredible, in one of the only passenger Hovercraft operating in Australia.

Dinosaur footprints Rock.

you lucky one...when i got there it was high tide......bad timing.....

They do have massive Tides in that part of the world. Almost 10 meters, it was a shame youcouldn't see the footprints.

yes im aware of the tides they have there...been there only for transit(as usual) on the way up Kununurra by car and we got the wrong time.....well next time then....

Always next time. What takes you to Kununurra?

i've got friends who live there...and i know the area quite well....great for fishing and a good friend runs a cattle station about 150 km south west of KNX.
i love it....

Great photos ! Wish to go in a hover craft some day ! 👍👍👍

It was very noisy and smelled like petrol. In other words it was Awesome 😁
