Let me start with some background information to set the scene. My wife, a friend of ours Roché, and I were having a great old time in Kho San Road, Bangkok. After having a couple of drinks Roché thought that it would be a great time to start tasting some weird and wonderful flavours. He pointed out some scorpions but my wife and I declined. Whenever I've had a drink or two I don't like trying new flavours all that much as I have a bit of a reflex... So we ate this and that, then Roché was like try a piece of this. It was Durian, warm Durian. I hardly had time to taste it and my body just said no. It had quite a pungent smell no wonder that you aren't allowed to have it in a hotel, taxis or anywhere that's not in the streets for that matter.
If you are going to try Durian I would advise you to get it cold as possible. I'm sure it would taste much better but maybe still not pleasant. If you have tried Durian before please share your experience and thoughts in the comments below even if you have not let me know if you would try it if you got the chance to.

Hmm, I just did a quick search and it looks like on a scale of 1 to 5 Durian takes number one and Jack Fruit takes number 5. Let's see what we find next...

Yea I'm sure if it was cold I could keep it down, but that smell though...
