Prison Cell (written 21st August, 2008)

the hours seem to blend together,
many faces knowing the score settled by the last.
I was once the victim to bare this knife,
Smiling sweetly, I knew my days were numbered.
As civilians stared at my face as I walked,
I felt the agony of the slow bleeding hours.
Passing by the sensations as I slipped into the scene,
I swear I felt your presence upon me..
One last time sentiments were uttered,
These precious moments weaved into the skin.
The sweetness of your scent still enraptures me,
And the whirlwind of emotion engulfs me.
Perhaps it was too early for definitions,
Perhaps these lungs are all but faltered and fatigued.
That smile that dances across your face,
Tears roll down your porcelain as you again take my breath away.
Gingerly now, I press my fingers through the bars to touch you,
And I swear, I've never felt this naked before.
As the whistle blows and I watch you leave,
Reminiscent now..the nights are always the hardest.
I wish that I could forget.
