Description
On July 16th I was in Romagna and I passed by Cesenatico. Cesenatico is a town that is part of the Riviera Romagnola and is bathed by the Adriatic Sea. I went for a short visit to the sea of ​​this town and I thought I would take some evening photos. The environment was optimal, it was not very hot and the tranquility enveloped anyone who was observing the sea.
At the time of my passage the waters of this area were clean, but after a few weeks the phenomenon of mucilage manifested itself right here. Sea mucilage is an aggregate of organic substances and debris. From what I could understand it is not harmful to human health, but it still causes damage to the ecosystem. Another characteristic of this phenomenon is that the waters affected by mucilage change their color and become greenish.

Personal considerations
As I wrote before, I have not seen this stretch of sea with mucilage because the mucilage appeared after a few days that I had been there, but I think that it was not a good thing for the tourism sector. The process of formation of mucilage is natural, but then why does it seem that this phenomenon has occurred on this stretch of sea this year?
The causes are the high temperatures and the few sea currents, this combination of factors favors the formation of mucilage.
This stretch of sea is wonderful and I hope that the mucilage no longer appears in those parts so that everyone can admire the spectacle that my eyes saw.

Il 16 luglio ero in Romagna e sono passato da Cesenatico. Cesenatico è un paese che fa parte della Riviera romagnola ed è bagnato dal mar Adriatico. Sono andato a fare una breve visita al mare di questo paese ed ho pensato di fare qualche foto serale. L’ambiente era ottimale, non era molto caldo e la tranquillità avvolgeva qualsiasi persona che stava osservando il mare.
Nel momento del mio passaggio le acque di questa zona risultavano pulite, ma dopo qualche settimana proprio qui si è manifestato il fenomeno della mucillagine. Le mucillagini di mare sono un aggregato di sostanze organiche e detriti. Da quello che ho potuto capire non sono nocive per la salute dell’uomo, ma recano comunque dei danni all’ecosistema. Un’altra caratteristica di questo fenomeno è che le acque interessate da mucillagine cambiano il proprio colore e diventano verdastre.

Considerazioni personali
Come ho scritto prima non ho visto questo tratto di mare con la mucillagine perché la mucillagine è apparsa dopo qualche giorno che ero stato là, ma credo che non sia stata una bella cosa per il settore turistico. Il processo di formazione di mucillagini è naturale, ma allora perché quest’anno sembra che su questo tratto di mare si sia verificato questo fenomeno?
Le cause sono le temperature elevate e le poche correnti marine, questa combinazione di fattori favorisce la formazione di mucillagine.
Questo tratto di mare è meraviglioso e spero che la mucillagine non appaia più da quelle parti in maniera che tutti possano ammirare lo spettacolo che hanno visto i miei occhi.
