in #elegance6 years ago

Hello dear Steemians,

I was very pleased to received so many nice comments regarding my last pastel work of a cat, I believe there are few reasons for that in first instance I would say many people like cats and nobody an remain untouched by cute little kitten. I have put a lot of time in this work that is why was very glad that I heard quite a lot of wonderful comments.

Thank you everyone that you like my work and for your support.

This time I would like to present you one of my favorite place for walking it is Queen’s Walk along the Thames. I find the most enjoyable to have a walk summer evening when “Dolphin Lamp Post” on. Those beautiful architecture was designed by Victorian architect George John Vulliamy and installed in 1877. It is one of the favorite place for tourists, joggers and of course for couples.

Thank you for posting @stef1.

Lovely artwork.....which could take pride of place anywhere.

Appreciate the information regarding the lamps.....interesting.

All the best to you.

Cheers!

Thank you, I am glad you like my work and of course I had to write about those Lamp Post, they are amazing!

The way that you established the light reflection in the water from the lamp posts is stunning. Beautiful work! The pastels add a unique element as well, I really love this one.

Thank you for your nice words, I love to draw and paint reflection, I find them sometimes better than the picture itself. Reflection on art works is different not like on photographs and it is really looks unique. I love to work with pastels, they have such rich pigment and everything when I blend with my fingers that reminds me my childhood and drawing with chalks on asphalt :)

Hello @stef1! I'm very glad that you continue to draw with pastel. I also posted a landscape on the blog. Very beautiful place for walking, I would like to come to sketches in the open air! )

Thank you for your nice words and of course I will on and off do pastel works it just depend on what I have and what is more convenient at certain time.

Do you mix pastel with other materials, or use it only separately?

For my last works I used pure soft pastel but in the past I tried to mix it with acrylic, I did not really like the result but I will try again, because I saw some other artists work with mixed acrylic and soft pastel they were really nice :)

I've never tried acrylic. It seems to me that these techniques do not quite match in composition. I used to mix ordinary pastel with coal for density and saturation.

oh my another work from you.. how to have a hands like that? I wont say anything cause this is just amazing

Thank you @kendallron it is a practice for me too, just to keep my skills up and that is a place where I can finally share my works with other people and it is kind of distraction for me from my routine daily work.

I love rainy pictures, and this one really shines from the rain on the bridge. You have a gift for capturing luminescence, @stef1

Thank you @bananamemos for your nice comment, I am glad you like that really post rain evening . It is one of the favorite subject to draw or paint rain and water, you can't do wrong, but there are also some tricks for that.

beautiful pastel painting ! amazing ! i can't do pastels to save my life and here you are, making it look effortless ! * ___ *

love how you generate the water surface and the composition is also very nice and peaceful <3
