Motivation as a Psychological Study for the Human Being

in #psicology6 years ago (edited)

Hello friends, I want to show in this publication a different facet of me and that is that I love psychology and especially writing, in this sense, I want to start with this post about motivation. A branch that identifies us a lot and above all because this theme is very related to human behavior at the psychological level, then if so, why a person does what he does?
What moves it? Are some of the questions that try to be answered with a theoretical construction called motivation.

It is a very popular word in the academic and work environment. Many people say they feel or not feel motivated by this or that thing. However, the motivation is more than the pleasure to do something.

Motivation has affective aspects, taste or emotion for something, intellective aspects such as the reasons that move us and, finally, volitional aspects or those referred to the will to action.

Theory of Motivation

The theories of motivation aim to clarify who the human being is and where he is going. In the end, they give a practical explanation to the eternal philosophical problem of who we are and where we are going.

There are many theories of motivation. The various modern approaches to this phenomenon and its application, however, can be classified into 5 categories:

  • Theories of needs.
  • Theory of reinforcements.
  • Theory of equity.
  • Expectations theory.
  • Theory of goals,

There are 5 ways to see the same problem from a different perspective.

Theory of Needs

Among the theories of motivation, that of needs has been the most widely studied. As indicated by its name, the theory of needs focuses on what people require to satisfy the urgencies of life and obtain some gratification of it. For this theory, needs move people.

According to the theory of needs, a person is motivated when he has not yet reached certain degrees of satisfaction in his life. A satisfied need is not motivating. There are several theories of needs that define in terms of degrees and the point at which, in fact, satisfaction is achieved.

Maslow's hierarchy of needs

The hierarchy of needs elaborated by Abraham Maslow, an American psychologist whom we mentioned when talking about humanistic psychology, has probably been one of the theories of motivation that has deserved more attention.

Maslow considered that the human motivation respodia to a hierarchy of five needs: physiological, of security, social, of estimation and of self-realization or personal accomplishment.

That hierarchy supposes for Maslow that the people will have to satisfy first the needs that are more powerful to them, in a given moment, to be able to continue in a ascent towards secondary needs. While the first ones are not satisfied, the second ones will not appear.

The personal history, the specific circumstances of the people, condition the appearance of the needs and give daran, equally opportunities.

What moves the human being

The behavior of people can be explained under different points of view. According to our beliefs about the life and the object of man on earth, as we will see later, we will be able to rehearse answers to the cause of human actions.

However, there are behaviors that we simply know are essential to existence. Eating, resting, shelter from the weather are essential conducts to the marriage of life. At least for the human being. They are instinctive behaviors, although in man they have become conscious through education.

On these primary behaviors little can be philosophized. When they appear with force, it is necessary to satisfy them, they are needs. But they also move to the human being more elaborated aspects: ambition, power, love, just to mention some of them. reasons are expectations or the simple relationship between a stimulus and a response. There are several ways to explain motivation. THE THEORIES SPEAK OF IT.

Truly enjoyed your article! Keep up the good work and good luck

Hello bud, this is a great writing about motivation, kudos for the article.

I would like to share with you 2 recommendations that I hope you can appreciate.

  1. Make sure to write the tags correctly, "psicology" I think is not a correct word?

  2. and in my humble opinion, when - writing like this - is probably better used when there is a quote in text. Writing an entire article - like this - is something not recommended.

Cheers!

hello thank you for your great comment and your support will take it into account for other publications.
