Not Able To Lease Steem Power Right Now Lower Min Bid

We Just Lowered Our Min Bid To 0.03 SBD

We simply are not able to lease steam power at a reasonable rate from anyone at this time. STEEM is best sold not leased and that is what many people are doing. Ever since the markets have been nuts it started becoming more and more difficult to lease steem power. We started leasing early with everything we had and hit 3500 for almost 30 days.

@steemthat is a small bot built mainly for the members of https://SteemThat.com but others are welcome to use it too. We were giving out .60 to .80 in upvotes for 0.05 SBD bid for a long time before people noticed it. Then we started picking up too much traffic and the upvotes suffered. I just noticed we lost about 1000 steem power leased from Minnowbooster and we got a credit on some that was leased because people canceled their leases.

I have seen several posts where people will lease steem power person to person. I have reached out to a few but no one really has a lot they are leasing. I can't afford to pay them the market rates for their Steem Power. I'll be asking our community to pitch in and delegate or possibly move this bot account to a private curation only account for the members of SteemThat.com if we cannot keep steem power above 2000 I prefer it between 3000 and 4000 for best results at a cheap SBD bid.

That is where my mind is at right now. Running this promotion bot has been great and I enjoy doing it very much. It is not profitable at all. Not after paying for hosting and then paying for leasing Steem Power. The only people getting rich are the ones leasing the Steem Power. Just a bunch of bankers running things again not very fair for the little guys trying to help make a difference.

I looked back 5 months ago and some posts had 100's of comments it seemed. Now 10 is about average and most of them are from promotion bots. I still think 2018 will be huge year for Steemit and SteemThat.com

It may take more work to get ahead on Steemit going forward, but the rewards in the future will be well worth everyone's effort. Keep on Steemin!

Thank you sir. I think you are correct.

You know, I've got two ideas in my mind.

Did you ever check out @Qurator? It offers a one-time signup fee and then a daily upvote on their posts to get a daily upvote back. Would a model like that work perhaps better for @steemthat? Both in driving down 'traffic' but also adding an element of earning to it (perhaps cycling that back into the bot, etc.)

Other than that, making it a closed community bot seems like an option too. Or maybe give a (significant?) discount for community members, and still have it open to other people but at a more profitable (for the bot) rate?

I was reading your Steemish token and whitepaper, and one thing that I was missing was a real 'value' for the token. Maybe if only token holders, or community members, get upvotes from @steemthat, this could be what drives people to sign up for the community and have it grow?
Just some thoughts!

Additionally, did you try reaching out to @jerrybanfield? I know he's got some contacts and there's a fund for Steemit-projects that need a little sponsoring

First Thank you for the feedback we need this type of honest feedback so that we can make improvements.

We do have several curation accounts that only upvote community members. They are small now but do provide a few upvotes for minnows. Some upvotes often helps get a post some eyeballs or at least not another no earning post.

Members use the auto share feature which feeds their posts to the website where other community members can easily support each other without all of the clutter. We would like to see this feature allow comments and upvotes and resteems right from SteemThat.com.

Members have access to a plethora of helpful steemit how to guides and tips. Including the upvote bots stats and sending dm to steemit or multiple bots at one time. Of course all of this is down now for some reason but it has worked great for 6 months.

The social media platform rewards members with an in house token Called Steem That Tokens And Liquid Steem That Tokens. These tokens allow members to gain access to certain tools and services on the platform. By tokenizing the rewards points people can earn on SteemThat and then actually trade the tokens for Steemish which can be traded on the blockchain. The SteemThat Community is the ultimate method of disseminating the currency based off of works which rates are published.

You don't have to write long articles just to earn though you can. There is a faucet page that allows members to earn rewards. Comments and private messages and other social interactions earn rewards like making friends, uploading photos and finishing your profile or writing wall posts. This is the vehicle really to put the currency into peoples hands.

I think I need to modify my white paper as I'm failing at explaining the value. For active members the value is assumed I guess. For new members or outsiders looking in I need to clearly state the value positions better. Others have had a similar reaction.

Here is my other response That I Really Need To Highlight In The White Paper For Clarity.

I do need to see the progress on budget proposals. I thought it was a great idea and could actually be why the price of Steem and SBD is going through the roof. It would have a real impact on the platform. However, I'm going against the grain a little and have not been welcomed many places. I'm a rebel and vocal about legitimate concerns I have with steem and steemit. Unlike others who just complain I'm working on things to solve problems that the little people have that are often forgotten about. No matter how many 10's of thousands of people I have sent to steemit I get very little support overall.

Everyone hates competition where I embrace it. When a tool is made known to me that is superior than something we have I'll usually write an article about it and even put a link to it and plan the phase out of our own tool. I simply want people to have the same access to what they need as everyone else in the know has.

We have members thank us all of the time for going from 0 in upvotes to some in upvotes. We are making an impact. I just get tired of waiting for Steem and team to release documents or communicate about SMT. So frustrating that they own a blogging platform and never issue updates on progress on projects like this. Or at least I miss them or am unable to find them.

In a way we can effectively USE Steemish as our budget proposal system until something is created. If people want to Support the SteemThat.com project they can and get some Steemish tokens in return. I like your idea about making @steemthat primarily community only as we could then also reward members who write on Steemit so that there is essentially a guarantee that they get something back pretty quick for their purchase... As it will take months realistically to setup and purchase exchange listing accounts and get enough volume to get listed.

So What If We proposed to take a percentage of all revenue earned from Steemish token purchases and dedicated it specifically to the growth of the community curation accounts! People who buy Steemish could then become a member and be added to the approved Auto Upvote List and get a return this way while still having their long term play. Though you can't legally state it this way on any official documentation. This would defineatly add some additional value to the platform.

@pandorasbox be sure to send me your ERC20 compatible wallet address. I owe you a huge thank you as this might be a game changer. You might as well join up and become an early adopter and adviser. It is going to be big.

There are many ways you can go about it.. 'tokenomics' is really interesting but can be hard to make it really perfect.

Another model, also stolen from @qurator a bit, is that you make several 'tiers' of 'membership. For @qurator if you are tier 0 (no involvement) you get a small upvote but if you upvote the qurator's posts everyday you advance to tier 1 or 2 and the upvote increases.

Similarly you could do something similar with @steemthat, to ensure some money stream back into the bot in order to grow it. Maybe users need to purchase Steemish tokens to advance a tier? Maybe the upvotes are based on a ranking of who holds the most tokens?

Then again, if @qurator does it without a token, what is the use of the token.. It's difficult coming up with a really good solid concept without holes. If I knew all the answers I would probably be more rich than I am now!! Donations really aren't necessary (upvotes are fine :P ) but if you insist I've got an ETH adress set up at 0xd3057786e0AE276E6B73882979aB2024B941C134

I do appreciate the help and brainstorming. You in about 4 hours when the Ethereum Miners catch up to the transaction will be the Proud owner of some Steemish. One Day I Hope You Can Say Wow About What We Are Doing!

By changing our strategy just a little it provides so much value and creates a future demand that will be through the roof. The best thing about the value of Steemish there will ultimately be 2 things that really determine it's value that even traders will have a hard time forcing up and down...
The perceived value by the members and users and the limited supply of the Steemish Token.
If you want to become a member of SteemThat.com at some point in the future you will have to have Steemish to even get in. The curation upvote bots will only upvote members. We will be investing 50% of the sale of tokens directly into the purchase of Steem Power for the curation accounts. This is a long term play with a 4 year plan of growth.

Not only can you earn more on your posts you get a wonderful community to grow with plus you can earn while you are on SteemThat.com too. So there is really no reason unless we do something stupid to ever want to leave! Keep in mind there is a limited supply of Steemish. Members will be the primary holders of it and the demand for membership will impact the value of the tokens... Members will want to promote the platform as it creates more demand which drive up the price of the STISH!

Genuis...Yes!

I got the Stish!!!! Thanks :)

I think there is definitely a token model possible but I would suggest making the entry as easy as possible. If people need to buy a token maybe that's a hurdle, and also where would they buy it? it would be offsite somewhere.

But I just realized that they will need an ETH wallet anyway since it's an ERC20 token. This really would work a lot better with SMT's if they were here yet :-/

There is an additional problem with ERC20 tokens in that they are expensive to send/receive...! So if you want to give people tokens or they want to earn them there will be a lot of transaction fees?

the simplest model would be to split the rewards, if you own 1% of the tokens you get 1% of the voting power.. but that way somebody could just buy the entire supply up and essentially 'take over' the account.

It's complex!
I will make an account on the site, but I have to admit, the site is pretty confusing! There's so much going on, it could use some streamlining! I like to think I'm not a n00b anymore but some things on the site are not really clear to me how they work or what they do. Maybe this will be cleared up when I make an account, probably this weekend when I look into it. New job is draining!

Thank you for the feed back we keep pruning and attempting to make things clearer and easier. It is a massive website. We have tried to organize things in the top navigation as critical things you need. The side bars and footer links are useful things for sure. Over Time We Will See What People Are Using And Prune. The Beta Is good for this. Looking forward to seeing you on https://SteemThat.com

Updated the white paper dramatically and loved your idea so much that we added it in. It is genuis I think. I give you full credit for it. I never even thought about it but it is such a great idea. We can finally grow the community curation accounts and help the most amount of people and get the Steemish moving into peoples hands and finish future development and integrate some more cool features with steemit. Going to be a great year!
I GOT STISH.png

Awesome! I'll have another look at it soon! :)

Hi, I just signed up and it said to leave you a message on one of your posts. Here it is :)

This is fantastic. It look like you are all set to go. You will need to visit https://steemthat.com/profile/ and get your profile set-up. Be sure to include your Steemit blog url so others can follow you here easily. There should be a spot for it now...https://steemit.com/@mariannewest

You Can Say Hello In Your Timeline Stream and share your steemit links. The website is massive with alot of cool features but the social platform is my fav. Join some groups, or create your own. Make some friends, private message people and now you earn rewards for doing all of this. You can blog and a snippet will automatically be added to the community feed page for everyone to see. Comments are now synced also. So much going on in such a little amount of time. I hope you find your way around!

Thank you so much. I hope to find some time tonight to look around a bit.
