[STATISM] Should Schools Be Privatized?
A while ago there was a conflict between a school and the parents of a class of fourth graders somewhere in Sweden. The conflict surrounded a teacher that a majority of the parents believed to be inappropriate. The school however didn't see any problem with this teacher. At the start of school 14 of the 17 students stayed at home. What is interesting here is that the school is apparently in the wrong. But this is what to expect with state run schools. The parents can't just send their children to another school, and the school has no incentive whatsoever to do a good job, since they aren't gaining anything themselves on offering a good service. It's simply all the old classic symptoms of everything state run.
If schools had been entirely privately run, meaning profits going to the owners and parents paying directly to the school and not through the tax bill, everything would have looked quite different. If almost every parent of a class complained about a teacher and threatened to not let the children continue to go to the school the teacher would obviously have bee replaced instantly. This is thanks to the profit motive. And the threats of the parents would have been real and would have carried more weight since they could have bought the services of a competing school. This competition would obviously also drive up the quality of the schools. Today, parents can't threaten with anything really due to compulsory schooling and schools not having any incentives whatsoever to offer good services.

Some of this planet's greatest minds never went to school (or finished school). The entire Public Education System is a farce and is not worth shit, much less the billions upon billions we as taxpayers contribute each year.
It is time for the institution of "Education" to be disbanded and for parents to once again resume the role of "parents" by teaching their children. It worked for 100,000 years of human evolution and it will work for another 100,000 years.
I vote ; less public money on education this would free up more tax payers dollars for Professional Politicians alcohol and booze accounts : )

George Lucas I think was in his late 50's when he decided to return and finish his forgotten education, many great minds have learn to think independently and to great greatness.

A class students, teach . B class students work for the government. C students just make the most money !!!

Private Prisons , why not private school ; after all it is mainly just government provided baby sitting so the parents can work to never pay all their bills : )

So your saying a private school basically being run as a business would not teach children exactly what they believed the government wanted the children to know?
Like the big business of internet search engines not censoring certain web results that might create friction or conflict with the current ruling political masters ! ! !
Or like the leaders of major religions in differing countries each supporting that individual countries ruling ruling political forces even though their overseas brethren supporting the opposing regimes political rules . . .
Of course nothing has gone wrong with private prisons either : )
