[HAIKU CONTEST] And the Winner is...
First of all I want to thank everyone that participated. I was surprised by the amount of Haiku's submitted, but maybe even more surprised by the high quality, which made it extremely hard to settle on a winner. Let's begin with some of my favorites, the runner ups if you will. Each runner up will be rewarded 1 Steem Dollar.
First some nearly perfect traditional style Haiku's

In clouds, sun disguise.

It runs towards horizon
Sun beats down on me

This one was oh so close to being the winner

This one manages to frame a moment and put you right in the middle of it

Shivering cold morning dew
Shoes are on wrong feet
And some managed to capture the worst aspects of human condition

Peace weaning the hungry child,
Modifying self

So much uselessness.
On a lighter note, this one produced the greatest laughter (in a good sense)

No-nonsense noodles
And then we had a few ambiguous and more philosophical Haiku's

Oooh, that was a really cool contest. Wrote that one on the napkins in the roadside cafe, after a day on the road, that seemed to be endless. Oh, and there was a whole sleepless night ahead of me, so the contest helped me stay well. :-)
