NFL Fantasy Today - Afternoon Edition

We are back with another edition of NFL Fantasy Today! The early games are all in action already and we will just focus on the afternoon slate. There are some fantastic match-ups and some teams that are desperate for a win to make the playoffs.
There are some really good quarterbacks to choose from this afternoon. A lot of the public will be all over Big Ben on the Pittsburgh Steelers as they are in a must win scenario. But I am going to go with another quarterback that has his back up against the wall. Let's get started.
N Foles QB 5900. Nick Foles is not going to be a popular pick today so I expect low ownership. That means that if he has a big day, and I think he will, it will pay off nicely! Foles is starting at quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles due to an injury to Carson Wentz. But this is a very familiar spot for Foles who filled in last year and helped the Eagles win the Super Bowl. He will have ice in his veins today and get the win.
J Samuels RB 6800. Jaylen Samuels is getting the start today with James Conor banged up. He has explosive speed and will be ready to take full advantage of this opportunity and show the world that he is up for the job. Samuels is only averaging 6.3 fantasy points per game, but with today's increased work load he will at least double that output.
S Diggs WR 7000. The Minnesota Vikings can make the playoffs as long as they take care of business today against the Chicago Bears. Normally I would not go against a strong Bears defense, but today they will be taking it easy as they have already won the NFC North. That means that Diggs may be running wild against the secondary all afternoon and haul in a few big catches.
A Gates TE 2900. Antonio Gates has had a Hall of Fame career playing for the San Diego Chargers. Although he is nearing the end of his career, Gates still has plenty to accomplish. Today he needs either 3 catches or a touchdown to earn a one million dollar bones. I think he will easily accomplish this against a deflated Denver Broncos defense. Gates is averaging 5.1 fantasy points per game but today I have him targeted for around 10 fantasy points.
It is going to be a very exciting afternoon in the NFL. I can't wait to see how all of these teams that are still fighting for a playoff spot play under complete pressure.
