Sticking To My Guns, Again.

I made a decent crypto purchase tonight and rememered that the luster of promising alt coins doesn’t compare to the peace of mind I have when choosing to remain focused on my larger cap holdings.

I considered get fancy with some trending plays that have been getting attention lately, but reminded myself that that’s what sheep do. Worst case, if I really find myself getting more interest in the lotto tickets, I can swap later.

While more risk equals more reward, I find that being invested in crypto is risky enough as it is. I don’t need to push the envelope.

While small altcoins attempt to disrupt and improve upon current blockchain/fin tech, many don’t last. I’ve seen many come and go.

Being in crypto for a while has allowed me to witness several cycles, and reinforce why it’s often easier to sleep at night when investing in more prominent options. I’ve seen many CEO’s come, pump, flop, and go. Hype and promise is infectious, but they are fleeting... and expensive if you buy it.

As we’ve seen with Tron and Steem, anything can happen in the smaller cap world where things aren’t as decentralized as advertised.

As you stock up for this potential new wave of a bull run, choose wisely. I prefer to follow the money, find solace in the adoption increase metrics, and see where real government and business is catching on.

The hype train will only take people so far. It’s easy up and hard down. When a true adopter base holds true support, and continues to attract new talent when times are tough, you can understand that certain alternatives are not where they are today by accident.

It’s wise to be diversified, but its also wise not to chase pipe dreams because of a sales pitch.

I could be completely wrong, but I can’t help but prefer to follow the money.

We are all more or less venture capitalists in this space. Most people in that realm choose a few promising investments in the hopes that just one of them takes off. I've never understood people who go all-in on some obscure project and then shill it to death.

Nobody knows what is going to happen with crypto this year. I'm hoping altcoins can rise. Are you sticking more with the top coins like BTC and ETH?

I've always been loyal to my first two true loves, especially when it comes to buying with USD. I just haven't felt the calling to go heavy on any alts and have kept my risk exposure with those below the top two fairly small. I feel that I can always swap over later on if something really gets legs. At this point, so many alts are big question marks.

Understandable. Definitely feels bullish going into the halving. My personal opinion, but I think some altcoins are going to pump pretty hard, but it is a crapshoot.
