We are in the age/era where information and technology are experiencing a massive growth with individuals, companies, and startups resorting to implementing it into their way of life and businesses. The technological advancements being experienced is gradually approaching its peak with it becoming a game changer in virtually all sectors including the educational sector. Teachers and lecturers in Africa are gradually beginning to embrace it with them steadily instituting its advantages in enhancing the learning process as well as in reducing their workload thereby making the teaching and learning process easier and more fun.

Few schools and Universities in Africa have implemented it but still, a larger number are yet to follow the trend which I believe with time they also would realize the power of tech and definitely follow suit. This brings us to some of the smart ways to institute the use of tech in schools and classrooms which is guaranteed to improve the learning environment and accelerate the ability of pupils/students to easily comprehend the dynamics of each subject/course thereby increasing understanding and guarantee an excellent performance.

This is a very effective way to spice up the teaching process with visual learners whereby teachers could easily add videos in mini-lessons to make the class more interesting and interactive. Videos could easily be sourced online or made on a particular topic then played for students to listen to and learn from thereby further improving the likelihood of the students understanding the topic being taught. Teacher tube which is an education based version of youtube as well as other numerous websites host teacher tailored video content for mini-lessons which could be easily downloaded for the students.

Setting up blogs for students especially those offering language, arts, and other writing-centric courses makes learning and practice easier with the use of word press which is a blogging platform that could be used to host each student's blog. With this, students could be content creators by creating their own articles, poems, essays and the likes making them further develop their craft in preparation for whatever field they desire.

Infographics which are graphical visual representations used to present data, information or knowledge in a quick, clear and an easily understandable format is one amazing way of easily communicating and summarizing lessons to students in a practical, colorful and concise manner making the scenarios being used in teaching easy to relate with. There are free infographic makers online that could be employed by teachers in creating infographics which would serve as efficient and effective tools for learning.

This is another way tech could be applied by lecturers and teacher by organizing live videos/ lectures for their students which might involve inviting an expert in the field or a guest lecturer to lecture students via teleconferencing. The amazing thing about this method is the level of ease associated with it whereby experts or lecturers could easily educate students stressfree in the comfort of their office without having to travel down to the venue or lecture hall. This makes the lectures more interactive with different questions and ideas popping. Skype or Google hangouts are very good platforms that could be used for such videos.

Conclusion

With these methods and others, learning becomes easier as well as the workload of lectures/teachers reduced. These are some of the teaching methods I hope if introduced in schools and universities in Nigeria and Africa aas a whole would result in a more synergetic learning environment for students and reduce the necessity for individuals to travel out to other advanced countries in a bid of getting better and quality education.
