This world is brimming with the unexplainable and downright bizarre. From questioning how a spider can construct a perfectly symmetrical web, all the way to the age old question, “why are we here?”, there are simply things that we just cannot explain no matter how many theories or stories we try to construct as reasoning. We simply don’t have enough proof to back these up, and we’ve been taught, as a human race, to simply accept that fact.

But what if we did have proof of some of the answers to these questions, but it was mandated by law that anyone not verified couldn’t have definite knowledge of it?

In this article, we’ll explore what we’ve heard about the infamous Area 51 and what we actually know.

The Speculation:

Right off of State Route 375 located in Nevada within the United States is the home of one of the most top-secret sites on the entire planet. This place is so well protected that anyone who goes onto the site without the proper credentials will be shot on sight! As with anything so secretive and heavily guarded, many theories have been formed as to what’s going on there.

The United States Government tells us that Area 51 has been and still remains as a test site for bombs and other war machinery. However, over the course of the past 100 years, there have been multiple UFO sightings and other unusual phenomena occurring around the area which have made experts take their theories to next level by trying to prove the existence of extraterrestrials and communication with life from another planet—or even another galaxy entirely.

Strange lights that did not appear to simply be part of an aircraft emerged in the night skies, and in 1947, there was the ever-famous Roswell UFO crash that was reported to have hundreds of witnesses. Citizens of the United States then began to believe that alien autopsies and reverse engineering of alien spacecraft were taking place.

This is still a belief that is strongly upheld as the UFO sightings are still happening. In the past twenty years, there even been reports from former Area 51 employees who have broken their silence about what’s going on there and confirmed the majority’s suspicions. These former employees have also had to take on new identities to protect themselves.

These stories aren’t so far-fetched, either. A recent survey conducted showed that over half of the population of the United States believes that Area 51 is harboring alien life and aircraft.

Another popular speculation is that there is an entire civilization of those who have been affected by nuclear chemical damage that are being studied there. It’s hard to tell as it appears to overall be a barren land from the outside looking in.

While this is some pretty serious information, some comedic relief can be found. Area 51 has become quite the tourist attraction and many gift shops in the area souvenirs and other novelty items.

The Facts:

UFO sightings have come in by the thousands over the years, and most of them have been grossly debunked by experts. On the other hand, there is still a small handful that have been reported credibly. Much to the dismay of extraterrestrial enthusiasts, however, the credible reports have proven to not quite be alien spacecraft, but rather—demos of spy planes and other test runs of different types of aircraft built by the U.S. Army.

In addition to that, just about all of the reports given in the timeframe of 1950-1969 actually ended up being the sighting of the U-2 which was a series of test flights for each of the different models of this specific aircraft.

In the end, it’s up to you to decide what you believe. Do you believe that extraterrestrials and those damaged by nuclear testing are actually being held at Area 51 and any and all published information is simply published as fact to cover up the secrets? If you’re a conspiracy theorist, you may agree.

Perhaps those who have spoken up about their experience working on the site were just paid actors. Perhaps the closest we’ve come to contacting other life forms is finding evidence of ancient microbial life on planets within our very own solar system.

Or, perhaps we’re being lied to. Only you can know what to believe.
