Earth, the blue planet
Hello Steemians!
In this post i will write about our home planet, Earth!
The only one in our Solar System not named after a God.
The Earth is terrestrial planet about 4.5 billion years old and is the third planed from the Sun and the largest one from the four terrestrial planets (including Mercury, Venus and Mars).
The Earth has a radius of 6,371 km an a mass of 5.97237×10^24 kg.
It takes 365.26 days to orbit the Sun and 34 hours, 56 minutes and 12 seconds to make one rotation around it's own axis.
The Earth interior consists of the inner and the outer core, the mantle and crust.
The Moon is the Earth's only moon/natural satellite.
Fun fact, the Moon is not the only object orbiting Earth, 3753 Cruithne and 2002 AA2 are 2 co-orbital asteroids that orbit Earth

the co-orbital asteroid 2002 AA2

*the co-orbital asteroid 3753 Cruithne *
The Earth's surface is about 510 million km^2, of which water cover's about 361 million km^2, hence it's nickname the blue planet.
So, about 70% of the Earth's surface is covered in water but only 3% is fresh drinking water, the rest being mostly salty water and ice.
Hope everyone enjoyed this short look into our planet, stay tuned for more fun facts as i travel through our Solar System and learn more about it! :)

She is actually named after a deity(Gaea),we just choose not to call her by her real name.
