Why does the weekend get here faster and faster?

I don't like the weekend. I usually have to work all weekend long. But every time the weekend is over it seems like it's already here again.

I'm not sure if it's because I'm getting older and time just seems to move faster but the weekend is always right around the corner. It was literally just Sunday the other day and now it's already Friday tomorrow. It really doesn't make any sense and it's incredibly frustrating. The weekend was just over and now it's ready to begin again.
