Report Proves Charlottesville Was A Set Up

The aggressive right wing factions came into town intent on attacking minorities of all stripes. They had displays of Nazism and KKK affiliation. Violence erupted started by these thugs that came into town, the people of Charlottesville a mixed and liberal community were there to protest the rally and were the victims of these racist. The violence ended with a white supremacist driver killing a leftist activist. This is the narrative we the American people were told after that supposedly horrible day. The backlash would last almost a week. Donald Trump would be called a racist for accusing "both sides" for the violence. On Friday a report was released by the City of Charlottesville that reveals what really happened at Charlottesville and not the narrative America was fed that week. The report criticizes the police department and claims officers were told to stand down. A female officer claims “They are pushing the crowd my way and I have nobody here to help me.” A superior told her to abandon post. Her post was where the man drove his car into a crowd.

Planning was badly made. Barriers were at a minimum it seems everything was at a minimum. The report says: “Supervisors devised a poorly-conceived plan that under-equipped and misaligned hundreds of officers” , “Execution of that plan elevated officer safety over public safety.” The report also criticizes the police department's claims that it didn't stand down: "Despite repeated public statements by state and local officials that officers were not instructed to “stand down,” police had in fact been instructed only to intervene in conflicts between white nationalists and counterprotesters in the event of serious injury" The Virginia State Police commander actually changed the plan at the last minute so that officers would not get involved in the fights: "A Virginia State Police commander made an “off-plan” decision to keep state officers behind barricades instead of sending them into the streets to break up fights and make arrests." Police Chief Al Thomas seems to have indicated the goal of the police plan: "After clashes began, Police Chief Al Thomas was heard by several people in the command center saying to “let them fight, it will make it easier to declare an unlawful assembly” and shut down the rally." Police Chief Al Thomas would continue to misinform the public to the police department's true intentions: "Thomas attempted to obstruct the city’s investigation, deleting relevant text messages, attempting to hide his use of a personal email account to conduct some official police business, and creating planning checklists that were not actually used to plan for the rallies."

The report also criticizes the city council for creating a hostile environment for the right wing protesters, ten days before the event the council asked them to move to a different area. The report concludes saying the city of Charlottesville: “was unable to protect the right of free expression and facilitate the permit holder’s offensive speech.” In other words the police failed to protect American constitutional rights and protect the safety of the those attending. So why would the police take this action. It seems now that the "facts" are known that the state and city governments conspired to set up the right wingers and make a show out of the events. The state and city governments all Democrat decided to act politically instead of protecting the rights of it's citizens.

Many of those attending the rally said the "alt-right" was not violent and the aggression came from the left wing protesters. There is video footage supporting this. The left wing claims the right wing was violent and tried to justify this with death of the female activist. The moderate position that President Donald Trump voiced is ironically now being supported by that same conspiring local government. State Police Superintendent W. Steven Flaherty said responding to the report: "Both the extreme right and the extreme left" went to the rally "with the sole purpose of provoking violence from the opposing side." Where was this narrative after the Charlottesville debacle.
