Here are the instructions for entering the Steemmonsters Game Jam:

1. Create a Steemmonsters Themed game. Games of any format will be accepted as long as it is accepted by itch.io

2. Head to our game jam page on itch.io: https://itch.io/jam/steem-monsters-1000-invitational

3. Click Join Jam. You would need to register with itch.io in order to join the Jam

4. Once you joined, Click on Submit your project to get to the game submission page

5. Follow the instructions on the page to submit your game

In addition, if you are making a HTML5 game, you can also enter the HTML5 game category with additional prizes sponsored by Steemgg worth over $500.

To be considered for the HTML category, you need to do the following:

1. Submit your game on itch.io as per instructions above.

2. Submit the same game onto [Steemgg] (https://steemgg.com) within 1 week of submitting on itch.io. You will need a steemit username to log in. You can register a steemit user name by signing up on https://steemit.com/

3. Make sure your game is less than 20MB and have your steemit username displayed somewhere in your game

4. Put Steemmonsters in your tag when you submit your game

For the Main Game Jam, the following prizes are on offer by Steemmonsters (contact @aggroed for more info):

First Prize: A gold foil legendary Steemmonsters card currently worth around $700 – 800
Second Prize: $200 in STEEM/SBD
Third Prize: $100 in STEEM/SBD

For the HTML5 Catergory, the following prizes are on offer by Steemgg:

First Prize: 150 STEEM
Second Prize: 120 STEEM
Third Price: 100 STEEM
Players’ Choice Award: 70 STEEM
Good Game Awards x 3: 20 STEEM each

Here is a summary of information of Steemmonster that might help you in designing you game

1. Steemmonsters universe is called Splinterland

2. Splinterland is divided into regions called splinters. Each region is of a dominant element. These Splinters are: Ferexia(Fire/Red), Azmare(Water/Blue), Anumun(Earth/Green), Dark Eternals(Death/Black), Khymian(Life/White), Gloridax(Dragon/Purple)

3)The heroes in this game are summoners. They summon monsters to fight for them. Summoners need to own the monster to summon them. Some monsters are rarer than others. A full list of monsters and summoners and what they look like is available on the Steemmonster Market Place.

4)Summoners can only summon monsters from the land they are from. For example, Malric Inferno can only summon fire-based monsters from Ferexia

5)An exception of the above is Selenia Sky, the only summoner from Gloridax that can summon monsters from any region. She is also the only summoner who can summon dragons.

6)Monsters have a range of attacks, magics and abilities, such as physical vs magical damage, defensive or curative spells, flying vs long distance attacks, etc

7)Summoners can buff their monsters or debuff enemy monsters but cannot attack
