Announcing The Steem Gaming Community CS:GO Tournament #1
As we have hinted in our earlier posts, we will be hosting a CS:GO tournament! There have been lots of discussions between the SteemGC team about the organization of this tournament and we've finally come to a conclusion.
Ideally, the tournament will consist of 4 five-man teams which will compete against each other in a BO1 (Best of 1) format. The last two remaining teams will have to face each other in a BO3 (Best of 3) format.
I say ideally only because not enough teams may gather, in which case we will have to behave accordingly, but we hope everything will fall into place and we will be able to have a successful event.
This tournament is going to be Europe only, because most of the SteemGC members are european and there would be severe ping problems in international matches. If there are enough players outside of Europe, we will surely host one for them as well.
How to sign up
Participation in this event is open too both individual players and teams.
Individual players must send in the tournament application form (found below). Teams will be balanced according to their CS:GO rank.
Full teams who want to participate, must have a total of 6 members (5 players and 1 substitute in case of inability to participate).
To register, just fill in the following tournament application form and send it to [email protected]:
- Steemit profile (or profiles of all team members)
- Steam ID (or ID's of all team members)
- Nationality (or nationalities of all team members)
- Current (or latest) CS:GO rank (or rank of all team members)
Every player will be contacted via Steam to ensure that he is registered in the tournament with his own concent. This is solely for the reason to avoid fake team and player applications.
Prizes
The first and second places will be receiving prizes. The prizes will be generated from tournament post rewards (there will be atleast two posts).
The first place prize will be 50 SBD.
The second place prize will be 25 SBD.
Tournament Day
The matches itself will start on the 24th of February 17:00 PM (CET). More information will be released prior to the beginning of the tournament.

Love this idea. Hopefully this event will be successful and it can branch out to the US? I have been playing counter strike for 13 years and would love to get a team together to participate :)
Will there be a stream of the tournament? Steemian shoutcasters perhaps ;)?
I'd like to see it expand to the US as well. I have CS:GO but I am not at all a strong player. I find myself with the urge to practice...

Absolutely :) we are just doing this first one to try everything out know and see that everything works from servers to bots and streams.
We are currently looking into finding a good caster who is also a Steemian ;)
Yes it will all be broadcast and more information on that will be announced as soon as we have that part figured out :)
Great! Maybe we can make a “find team” post for this tourney? That way people can team up easier? Can’t wait to watch.

I play CSGO sometimes, especially when I´m feeling sick, like this past week.
I have to stay home for some days and I usually use most of that time to have some fun in CSGO.

Players with any ranks can participate in this tournament.
yeah i know, but i think it should be balanced. I mean not Global vs. Silver this would be ridicolous.
