I think it's very important for the long term success of Steemit that new users don't feel like there's too much of a barrier to reach meaningful payouts. I know that's how I felt before. Was still trying my hardest, but when you come into this site without a prior following and start making $0.05 per post it leads you to ask whether it's worth it.
And if we can capture the mainstream user, STEEM rises, we all benefit
It seems to me like Steemit may be one blockchain tech that you don't necessarily have to get in early to succeed, if you have engaging content anyone can be discovered and build a readership.
