Scenes from Hawaii #2

in #travel8 years ago

foto_no_exif.jpgTo me, this Jackson Chameleon was way too irresistible. It's one of those creepy/cool things! A local pulled it out of a tree for me. And yes, the eyes move in different directions. Can you see it start to change color?

Brunch on the beach. It's such a bonus because not only is the view amazing, you can people watch as well.
BeFunky Collage1.jpgFriendly geckos stopped in. I think their colors are fantastic.

The Big Island of Hawaii is entirely made of lava. Even their roads are simply crushed lava. Locals are taught that no matter where you are on the island, it is only a matter of time before red-hot lava comes back. My comment was, it must be tough to get insurance on houses.

One of these days I will start travelling with a tripod so my gif's are not so twitchy :)

These are all my own photos.

I hope you enjoyed my post because I enjoyed making it!

Your trip and your husband are amazing.
How wonderful your life is, this is a diary that will not be forgotten someday.

You have angered people when you see your post,
🙄
Because..

They will feel hungry when they see the delicious food that has been served. 😋 hahahaha 😄 😄

Haaa, thank you so much for looking at my post friend!

Great post and gorgeous photos!!!

Thank you!!

Ar you still on The big Island? this is where I live. Loads of Geikos here in Naalehu.

Oh, such a bummer, I would have loved to meet you! No, I'm in Florida and headed for Greece in a few days. Thanks for looking at my post!

Awesome! I visited Athens in 1978 and loved it. I a sure things have changed a lot since I was there. Have a fun trip.

You can tell, why didn't you take me? @steem-samiam, jajajaja!

lol, thanks for looking at my post friend :)

Beautiful, the lizards are very friendly Hawaii. In Thailand they tend to run away. I had a few geckos as room mates in my little bungalow, however they would never let me get close!

Oh too fun, I love the pretty sound they make. We had a family of 5 living in the townhouse we had in Australia, at least that was what we could count. See you soon!!

Love how artistic is your photo with the Chameleon and how cool you look!!!
BIG LOVE!!!!❤❤❤❤

Awww thank you!!! 4 more sleeps!!!

That looks nice! We're in the middle of another snow/ice storm here in Minnesota, and I would totally prefer to be playing with a gecko. The food looks great, too!

Come to think of it, if there were a friendly gecko around, I'd probably be trying to get him to pose for the macro lens. You know, nice gecko portraits. Who wouldn't want a 16x20 print of a gecko's smiling face on the wall?

Now I have to go back! I can totally picture a 16 x 20!! Especially those geckos, they hung around for the entire meal.

The chameleon is awesome! Does it have two horns on its head or is that just something in the background of the picture? Super unique if so, never seen one like that

There are actually 3 horns. They are territorial, although I can't imagine the slow-mo jesting match. The chameleon was very slow moving. I too would have never had seen it even when the local pointed to it in the bush, it was totally camouflaged. Thanks for looking at my post!

Ah gotcha! That’s so cool, thanks for sharing!

nice photography and beautiful place..... good luck for your journey
