MMR DotA 2 REMOVED!! Replaced With Medal System aka SEASONAL RANK!!

Valve is already planning to replace the MMR system since some time ago. However only today, the MMR system is eliminated and replaced with a ranking system based on each season.

Make friends who are used to playing MOBA on mobile, such as Mobile Legends or Arena of Valor may be more familiar with this ranking system. Overwatch and League of Legends are also already using this ranking naming system first.

Previously, Dota 2 is more unique than other games by not giving a name for the caste division system ranking. But it turns out they decided to replace the system that only based on these numbers.

Here is the medal ranking order that will be used:

1. Unranked
2. Herald
3. Guardian
4. Crusader
5. Archon
6. Legend
7. Ancient
8. Divine


Each ranking will also be divided into 5 stars as its progress system. Our performance, both for Party and Solo, will be taken into account in this ranking system. However, the Solo game will have a greater significance. Plus, for players who want to achieve Ancient or Divine rankings, only Solo game performance is considered.

All players who earn 5 stars in the Divine ranking will also be automatically displayed on Leaderboards. The medal of each player will also be displayed in each Profile. This new ranking system will also be calibrated every season or every 6 months.

Indeed, this system will be more similar to other competitive games like Overwatch, CS: GO, LoL, or even Mobile Legends and AoV. But do the friends here agree with this change?
Actually seeing this change may not be significant enough because in fact the main problem in MOBA games is the Matchmaking system for Solo players that are often coupled with players who can be spelled out not one level of playing ability or noob.


Season-based ranking systems already implemented in LoL, Mobile Legends, or AoV also seem to be ineffective in sifting out ragged players. However, let's see how this system works in Dota 2.
