Why I'm going to stop posting on Steemit
Why I'm going to stop posting on Steemit.. at least for now.
Don't get me wrong I still plan on hanging out in steemit.chat and supporting good content coming to Steemit, but as far as posting myself.. I feel like I have pretty much posted 10 years worth of content already.
Now I do love a good Ethereum update so if something huge happens with Ethereum or Classic expect an update!
But honestly I have been feeling too much like I'm always looking forward to the payout instead of focusing on just posting good content, and supporting new content coming to the site.
I also think that's why we aren't seeing these big payouts right now, because there's a lot more people coming in so that is only compounding the amount of posts.
Now I do think there is a lot of great content coming to the site, and even though it is not earning as much as posts were a couple of weeks ago.. You still should be excited that we can still EARN something for our posts!
(Also important to remember upvotes are based on price of STEEM and with the price being traded very low right now they really should be 2-3 times as much.)
So for now expect support from me and as always reach out to me in the chat anytime :D

It's all about providing value for others. If you can do that, by all means post. If not, and the focus is just on a payout for yourself, than taking a short break and re-centering might be a great idea. It also helps to read and support other people's content, as you've mentioned here. That helps you better understand what content is appreciated by the community. If you can provide useful, helpful, and informative comments, I'd encourage you to do so as you continue using and enjoying the site. Again, it's not just about your own payouts, but the value you can provide to others.
A great idea I saw mentioned today was to go through all the new #introduceyourself posts and leave a nice, personal welcome message. There's a lot of ways to add value to other people that don't necessarily turn into a direct personal reward. And that's okay.
I second that!
Why not write off line for a while with a Hindu philosophy of writing just to write, without sharing it with anyone? Then maybe after a while, stabb the philosophy in the back as you post your content here.
This is a solid clearing practice for writing, but from what I sense and read I don't think that's the point stealth is making entirely. But I agree with the write for yourself philosophy. It serves me well and I had no idea it was a Hindu philosophy, right on, I thought I invented it lol ;)
Right on thanks @abarefootpoet
I think this is a great idea @gonzo.
Whales have left us and ran for the hills.
@acassity I am in the same boat, I have spent a week working on a series and I don't know how to attract people to it.
@opheliafu Thank You
Hey buddy,
I was browsing your posts and it seems like your really niche targeted etherium posts do well. Have you considered using this down time to sort of define and focus your niche and blog? Like what if you did 1 really amazing etherium post every couple days or every week, on a schedule that's predictable and someone like me who is an ETH investor, can look forward to and subscribe to, knowing you will always be really focused on topic and really reliable as to when your posts come out.
Just an idea. I know what I post is way different, but check out my Instagram. It's also abarefootpoet. There I have settled into a pattern and people who like my work can rely on me...except for today when my friggin sewer backed up! Yikes. But just an idea. I need guidance in ETH and I'm sure others do too. Are you our guy? ;). Namaste brother, whatever you do.
Good advice man that's what I've been thinking. I'll always post about Ethereum :D
Im starting to feel the same =/
As long as you have good content I'd say keep posting :D
Thank you, this is the idea of community!!
huh. I didn't know about that last tibdit.
Basically the $ amount you see of the SD/SP payout is based on the voting power of everyone that upvotes, and that value is based on the value of STEEM.
That's a clever click bait title:)
