STEEM speed

If STEEM's blockchain is faster than Bitcoin AND Ethereum.. then why isn't it used more widely as a crypto-"currency"?

I know that there are stores online, and even some physical ones that accept the STEEM Dollar and maybe some that accept STEEM, but what if everyone knew the benefits and speed of using STEEM?

Now don't get me wrong I love Steemit and the community we've created, but outside of Steemit.. STEEM itself can compete with Bitcoin.. So with a community of 100,000+ users I'm sure we can all come up with ways and opportunities to grow both STEEM and Steemit on a global level!
