Why Aren't There More Females Visiting Steemit.com?steemCreated with Sketch.

I was looking at the data for Steemit.com on Alexa and found that a huge majority of the people who visit are male. I wonder why that is? Sounds like we all need to spread the word about Steemit to our female friends and family!

Here is a link to the data on Alexa if you are curious about other stats

I did invite a female friend that is a female beauty and fashion blogger, but she refused.... kinda frustrating

I've had people outright refuse as well, I don't really understand it. It's as if they are programmed to only try something new if everyone else is already doing it

Yeah exactly, like "go try it first" etc

Despite the promise that Steemit can replace Facebook.....until her sister, cousin and girl friends are all on Steemit.... She won't be that interested in Steemit.
But I have been talking to two blogger friends of mine(both females), I think they are going to join!

And thanks for the post!!!!

Why do people even think it can replace Facebook. After all, they are totally different platforms. They should be saying it will replace Reddit before saying it will replace Facebook.

I agree, I see steemit as more of a twitter than a facebook

It's like a mix of twitter, reddit and instagram, but with out any private components.

No problem! I've been asking my female friends to join as well. Sometimes it's hard to get past the cryptocurrency aspect of steemit. It seems as though many people have been watching programming that encourages a negative perspective about crypto. In spite, I keep inviting people to join!

There are not that many girls into crypto either - it's just not trendy enough for them to join. They have Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat where all their friendies are so they do not see the need to join this community. And if you wanna be successful - Steemit requires a lot of attention, moreover - all the Steem Power and Steem Dollars and Reputation points - it's all a lil bit confusing for newcomers and might discourage new users (potentially women) to use this platform. That's why, I guess, we ahve only few female bloggers (bloggers - not just users) here on steemit.

True, not many girls are into crypto, seems like that is starting to change though. I agree that steemit has a bit a learning curve, but it's not that steep. I feel like as the word is spread more will join

It doesn't help the few in here get called "bro" or "mate" when they make a comment.
