I Saw the Sign

I love this photo. I took this one day when I had been out driving around just trying to find neat stuff to take photos of. This was on College St in Springfield, Mo which is part of the old Route 66. I'll admit, I'm not quite sure why this sign appealed to me. It just did. But then, I have a LOT of photos that I took for that very reason. They just appealed to me.

This was taken using my Canon T2i with a 55-250 mm lens and edited using PaintShop Pro. I used a greyscale and then used a retro sepia effect on it which has a vignette included in it. Then I adjusted brightness/contrast. To me, this was the perfect effect because I wanted it to look like an old photo. When I took the shot, I wanted the pole in the photo to show and the crookedness of everything just pulled it all together for me. I actually have this printed up and framed in my house and I love it. It has not yet been hung up yet because my husband and I disagree on where it should be placed. He thinks it should be in the kitchen where I think it should be out where anyone can see it at any time. Not sure who will will!
