In Psalm 23, God promises to be a shepherd to us, by leading those of us who trust Him beside still waters, and green pastures, speaking of abundant provision, and even in times of evil his rod and his staff will comfort us. In this place where he is leading and guiding us he promises to restore our soul and even prepare a table before us in the very presence of our enemies.
