Once again, the University of Nicosia will hold the 2018 Decentralization event, after its success in 2017. The event will take place on 14-16 November 2018 at Divani Caravel, Athens, Greece. A few years ago Greece faced a severe economic crisis, many banks in Greece collapsed and many residents switched to using bitcoin for everyday transactions.

The University of Nicosia is one of the universities that uses blockchain technology in the world. Amazingly, the University of Nicosia has issued certificates / diplomas using blockchain technology and they have published many books using blockchain technology.

Since 2013, the University of Nicosia has received bitcoin from its students to pay tuition. The only accredited university that accepts bitcoin payments. in 2014, Nicosia University added a master's degree in digital currency.
