Tuna Steak Dinner
Today I bought a piece of tuna steak from the fish market. I asked for 2lbs but they cut a 3lbs piece for me... so I invited my daughter and son-in-law to come over. Here is the piece of steak, very impressive, right?
I took a few photos and I am putting them in a collage... we were having fun with that big piece of meat, we didn't know how to cut it, so it could fit in the pan.
We sliced it, seasoned it with salt and pepper and cooked it in the pan. Heat butter and olive oil, put some peppercorns and cayenne, sear for a few minutes and it's done. I had a few tiger shrimps handy, cooked them really quick in the pan and added them to the plate. We also made some rice and some fresh salad to go with it.
The last step is to put a little butter on top, add a few slices of lemon and sprinkle some fresh cilantro.
Here is my plate. I usually eat rear or raw tuna, this time it was well done, but it was very good. My kids like it like that.

I'll just slice it up and eat with soy sauce and wasabe. Cooking changes flavor too much for my tastes. Maybe light sear on outside is all it needs =)
I totally agree, but my kids won’t eat anything raw or rear. It tasted like steak for sure. I used some sauces to boost the flavor. 😊
Oh wow, that is one impressive tuna steak! I normally prefer Salmon.... I've never tried to cook tuna... but you have me quite curious to try!
Your presentation made it look like steak. Nicely done, now I'm craving for some tuna. Fortunately tuna is readily available at our market daily.
It tasted like steak because it was well done. My kids don’t eat raw fish. Too bad, because such a big piece of steak should be served rear. Slightly seared to make a crispy outside and raw inside.
Don't think I have eaten tuna like that

Wow, that’s one huge piece of fish!😱 I’ve never bought 31bls before lol. The meal looks great though!👌 I can tell you know how to throw down in the kitchen.

That is a fine piece of fish right there! And it looks so yummy the way you cooked it too. I just might be converted to eating fish more often!
