Exploring St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands
St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, is a popular vacation destination. Not only the cruise ships stop here (duty free shops), we have also many high class hotels, as well as moderate budget ones.
I used to run a website years ago for traveling info on St. Thomas, but I stopped due to some more traveling I had to do for my other online business. Now I see some of my articles are posted on some other people's blogs. Well... there is nothing I can do, it's been a few years. The best part is that nobody can take my personal pictures saved on my hard drives.
So here it goes. Few traveling tips and pics about St. Thomas.
Today's tip - How to move around.
Although the island is small, you need some sort of transportation. As you can see in the picture below, driving is on the left. You can rent a car, many rentals available.
If you don't want the pressure of driving yourself, you can take a taxi, however, it can be costly. Ask the cab driver how much they charge before you get in, they don't have meters! There are also some shared taxis, usually taken from the cruise ships to various island attractions, they are more affordable. Also there are local open buses, called "safari", kind of hard to spot!
If you want to walk, you can do that too. Just watch your step! You will see some unexpected walking buddies - IGUANAS!
I edited my text, as someone copied my article a good while ago, I had no idea. No problem what-so-ever, I believe in karma ;)
