Grey Heron Hallucinations
Working on Padre Island has so many benefits. One is all the friends you get to meet, or scare off as did I today. I did manage to take a snapshot of him before he launched in to flight barking like a cat.
The pic's a little grainy cause I had zoomed in 4x on my dumb-phone trying to frame him a little better but spooked him off in the process.
I was surprised I managed to catch him in flight a he flew away. Grey herons are peculiar birds. I like watching them hunt being all stealth like and contorting their neck trying to hide from their prey.
So many time I'll see then standing around looking at me funny while I'm eating lunch like this guy I captured several months back.
Happy heron, hunting for handouts. Aren't we all? Hope you enjoyed.

Yes it's where the wealthy flaunt their money and act like bafoons, some are genuine and nice, but most seem to have a stick in their butt or their nose in the air like being wealthy makes them ...self important. Whatever, I've got my own issues too. Besides I build dreams I don't live in them, reality suits me just fine.

It used to be joyful and most days still is but the years are catching up on me. Arthritis is slowly setting in, my bones hurt. This getting old crap is for the birds. I need to spend more time being lazy and doing stuff like surfing, skimboarding, fishing, sandcastle building, bon fire chilling, and being lazy. The way I see it the world is going to hell in a band basket so might as well relax and enjoy the ride.
Sounds good to me @spozone. I just have to work out how we can get to a point where my partner can retire so we can really enjoy the stuff that we can still do before we get our zimmer frames or my knees pack up completely. 😊
It's doable if you care to invest in about $10,000 of cryptocurrency mining equipment. With that you could make enough in crypto to at least get by without to many concerns. I've decided a few months back to slowly do just that, so I can have more beach time
That sounds interesting @spozone. I look forward to following your progress. I wish I could get my son interested in this cuz he could manage the techy side but at the moment he has other stuff he's way more interested in. 😁

STOPI'm completely jealous of that inflight shot! And on a smartphone too! Herons are so cool - we went on a family vaca to Pennsylvania a couple years ago, and I was constantly stalking the herons in front of the hotel.
Definitely enjoyed these captures, and very true - I know I'm always happy when I get handouts, so... 😂
Oh, and thanks for the reminder - I haven't checked those shots out in forever, so I think I'll give them a peek soon.
