Not just fishing...

During the trip to the Ivankovo reservoir 10.06. - 17.06.2018. in addition to working out some strategies for catching pike were tasks to upgrade the boat and motor. The solution of these technical issues was to improve the speed characteristics of the boat and optimize fuel consumption.
Our technical partner, service center for the sale and equipment of boats "Ride.ru " provided us for these goals all necessary. The management of the technical center, taking into account the specifics of our engine Mercury 75 Sea Pro ( in one case and with almost identical filling motors are available 75, 90 and 115 l\s) allocated us a control processor from the motor 90 l\s and three screws - with 17, 19 and 21 steps. From the combination of processor+ screw we had to choose the best during the tests, giving the maximum speed at full throttle, and the most stable and economical when moving at cruising speed ( 2\3 stroke of the throttle lever). In the basic version of the engine was the regular "brains" from a 75 Mercury and a 19-second screw. Characteristics maximum speed \ speed-57.5 km \ h at 5600 rpm.

Replacement of the processor was made independently. The benefit constructively in the motor it is very simple and is conveniently made for such manipulations. After replacing the brain began to conduct sea trials with the screws provided to us.

Results:
17th propeller - max rpm 5680. Speed-58 km\h.
19th screw - maximum speed 5490. Speed-61 km/h
21st screw - maximum speed 5230. Speed-63,5 km\h.

All screws are three-bladed, aluminum. Given the "cargo" specifics of the gearbox of our motor, the possible use of four propeller blades can add another 2-3 km / h at maximum speed. And the installation of a steel screw can bring the maximum speed in the range of 69-71 km\h.

We do not go on a boat at maximum speed on normal fishing and during training. Handle of gas is usually at position 2\3 of the maximum. This saves fuel and increases the life of the motor. Characteristics of the engine in this mode - 4200 rpm and 50 km / h. This speed is enough to get to a 10-hour training day in a fairly remote point of the reservoir, find and catch fish, and return to the base with a good supply of gasoline...
