Interesting viewpoint came out from @kenanqhd the other day… If you haven’t watched his video… Don’t. He said nobody cares about DTube videos anyways. But if you have, here’s my thoughts. No hard feelings, just cold hard facts.

The YouTube channel you looked at was my Simply Elated one. I am not very active on that one. I have a main YouTube channel (kenanqhd). It's got ~1.2K subs which isn't that big, but it's growing and has pretty good engagement.
I almost always get a dtube upvote and it is higher than most people's. Most people get 15%-20% but mine are higher. While it's true that my payouts are low, so is everyone elses. I am not jealous of someone making $60 when I make $30. Both are losses when you factor in the time it takes for me to make a video. This had nothing to do with being jealous of others for getting higher upvotes. It was about genuine engagement. Higher number of upvotes/payouts != engagement.
@spenceryan, Here only one point i have to highlight which is inspired by your words from this video and that is, if we will move to YouTube then for sure we will going to feel the Loneliness and no one will care most of the times. So, first of all we have to move away from the Subject Of Expectation and by that i mean, on first place don't just dream and expect that as soon as we post Dtube will upvote, but it's not possible all the time at all in my opinion. So, if Dtube upvotes then that's well and good otherwise you will receive something depends upon your Networks so, you are earning something instead of nothing which is the case of other centralised platforms. So, we are in Win Win position but we lack to see this understanding due to our expectation. Let's enjoy the Steem Journey and let's expand our work time to time so that we can gain more visibility.

Truth man. I have my eyes set on gaining 10k subscribers on youtube as a dtuber lolol.

I think what keeps me happy about all of this is that I just want to make the best videos possible. And build the best relationship with the people who watch them. I understand why money can become #1 for many people when creating content. But I'm a firm believer that you should get a job as a uber driver or freelancer and focus on relationship building and making better stuff the first 2 to 5 plus years. Cause then the money will come. But it's about relationship building and making better content.
The fact is, I FREAKING love youtube. Because it's based on watch time and retention. That means if you make a video and gets only 20 percent completed rate, youtube will show it to less people. But if you have a 40 to 70 percent completion rate, you're video will be exposed to more people. That's the beauty. You can literally quantify if your content is resonating with your viewers.
Perfect example is my youtube video, 'Is Kenya Safe?' had only 400 views after 2 weeks of being uploaded. But it finally got picked up these past few days and I'm up to 2.1k views and 50 new subscribers. And it's because I have a 50 percent completed rate. Which means it was a quality video.
Focus on creating better stuff (because you can literally quantify what is good content and bad content....the numbers DO NOT LIE ON YT) and focus on building relationships with people.
^ That's how I know I'm gonna hit 10k subs on YT within a year time.

I'm not here because of a lack of success. I kept my success low on YouTube on purpose because of the community I was a part of and the values I had. I was tired of the flagging and the censorship there. If you haven't seen my video on this topic I welcome you to come to my page. It's delectable.
I guess I could have worded what I said better. Not necessarily a "lack of success" but more like looking for more elsewhere. Also, one could argue that the flagging and censorship is detaining your success!
Ultimately my point was, people who find huge success on other platforms rarely complain here.
At any rate, I will definitely check your video out. Hope it didn't come off as me undermining your success on other platforms!
No you're fine. Flagging in YouTube communities created the blame game because everyone blamed each other and it just created decent. I never got flagged once but I was tired of watching the bickering so I am still there but not as much.
