Sports - educating future generations

in #fiction8 years ago (edited)

How to train and educate young pupils and students in order for them to become valuable members of society? How much of the curriculum should be either modernized or replaced? Are all classes necessary?

In my humble opinion every class must be a subject of evaluation. Keeping in mind future requirements, entire or maybe fragments of curriculum should be altered to satisfy future demands of economy.

What is the future of sports practices in the modern or future education systems? Should physical performance be still included in everday studies of students on all levels?

If you ask me, answer is definetely yes. Sports evolved from games, and because of their origins they are appealing to most children simply because they are fun. Because of it practising sport is a perfect medium for a society to teach children and teenagers valuable real life lessons. I am not just talking about exercising and health in general, I am talking how sports can prepare you for other life challenges.

How important is the will to improve? Probably of utmost importance, and is there a better way to practise it in young age other than sports? Now some will say extreme competetivness can be contraproductive and harmfull. That is very much true,  but while practising sports you are also practising sportsmanship and fair-play. That is a counter balance to excessive competetivness.

Don't forget that team sports teach you how to work in a team. Most jobs require of you to be a team player. And there is no better way to learn social or team skills other than actually being a part of some collective. When you experience group dynamics you will easily recognize your place in a team, and how to contribute to benefit everyone.

Performing under presurre is quite common today. We all experience stress, and we need to learn to deal with it. Well, guess what, what stress for a kid is bigger than playing against the rival school, and on top of that your parents are watching you.

Sports activities like all others, should be run by professionals. It is unforgivable that some pupils miss out the benefits of sports because they were poorly led by their trainers. If a child is not too talented at a certain sport there is a posibility that the child will shut off and start hating sports in general. This is very bad. The goal should be to include more and more people into sports because of the benefits. Some answers may be to redirect the student in a sport that has less competition, or create more than one team so that all have the opportunity to improve.

Everything changes in life, so probably knowledge and skills that I posses now will be unimportant and useless in 50 years. But no one can take away from me the lessons I learned while practising sports. In a very young age I learned that, for sucess I need comitment, hard work, sacrificies. I learned to respect my team players as well as mine opponents. And maybe the most important lesson is that both victory and defeat are a part of life.

Couldn't agree more. People have picture of athletes being rich and stupid...because of that the strength of spirit is totaly neglected

But the enefits of practising sports especially in early age are tremendous
