Dear reader - Steem has been renamed to Hive since May 2020. My content therefore has moved with me to Hive, and I hope to see you there: peakd.com/@soyrosa.

Oh, so cool! My GINAbot is not working so I almost missed the post, that would be a shame...But, luckily I am here :D

This one is done ''acapella''. This is an old way of how we sing here in Croatia, we call those groups ''klape''. It's like when in old times few people will gather together and start to sing on the street without instruments... (You can see how it looks like in next suggested video. The lyrics are simply great, I cannot translate these songs, but the topics are romance, love and everyday struggles of life - real life :)

Now... This song.. If I could translate it, you would start to cry in a second, just like I did it when I heard it now (I didn't hear it for a long time). The song is about the region I live in, Dalmatia. The whole of Croatia is beautiful, but my Dalmatia is something special to me. Nature is stunning and in this video, you can see a glimpse of it.

As I cannot translate the whole song, I will give you one verse that will describe the whole song.

Who does not live here, he will hardly know
that man can, even when he suffers,
be grateful to you.

Wowww! There's a lot of power in this song even without the lyrics. The voices are divine and the imagery of your beloved Dalmatia makes me want to come over immediately :-) I think this song somehow comes close to how I feel while listening to 'Zoutelande'by Bløf, the lyrics and images are just so close to my heart and every sentence somehow reminds me of a family member, or a moment in time where I walked on the beach, or a feeling I had when...

It's so special that music can do this and I love that this song touches you so much it made you cry again - really really amazing, the power of songs.

Thanks for this @whack.science, very different from your other song you posted, I love it :D I'll add it to the playlist!

That's awesome! Thank you for featuring the songs in our native tongue. It is good sharing our talents to the world and at the same time knowing others out there. 😊

Yes! I thought so too - glad you liked it and were able to add such a lovely song :D

I spend 3,5 hours today editing pictures and listening the playlist, all of it :)
I have to say congratulations to you @soyrosa for having one more excellent idea and more congratulations to the people that contributed to this list for their choices!
You are right, I did skipped a couple of videos but only a couple. Most of the songs are great and it is so interesting to listen so different sounds than the ones you usually do!

YAY! I'm so glad you listened to the full playlist! That's awesome and I hoped it would happen :D Yes, skipping a few is okay, @livinguktaiwan brought up the idea of doing these playlists but within themes/genres, which is something I will think about for sure :D I had a lot of fun creating this first list so why not do more? :D Thanks for commenting and adding to the list your lovely Greece song @fotostef!

Wow, what a list! Such a cool concept Rosanne! I can’t wait to get to work and listen to them!

:D Hope you like some of the songs and may they inspire you!

By the way, I think the Pilipino and Mandarin songs sound a little more on a serious side which is indeed the case for Pilipino "Anak". I am not really sure with Mandarin but I just thought so because of the bit slow rhythm.

I like the upbeat tunes of Thai, Portuguese and Croatian songs. Those have lively beats that would keep the listeners awake - may even stand up for a dance especially for the Thai one. I can't help giggling while watching the video. 😃 Though, I can not relate to the video of the Croatian one.

Maybe @cicisaja and @brittandjosie can add something on the list. Non-English, ladies. 😉

Well thank you for the mention @macoolette 😉 I haven't find any indonesian or Achenese music video that would make other listener would understand the lyrics or meaning but I'll try

:-) All songs are welcome! They don't have to be 'understood', I believe exposing ourselves to many variations in music is interesting in itself :-) Good luck finding a song!

Yes, they both sounded more 'serious' or maybe melancholic indeed... I love all kinds of songs, but the Thai one makes me smile every time I hear it :D It's interesting to see which songs translate well, you're not the first one who doesn't 'connect' with the Croatian one, but for me it clicked immediately :-)

The Croatian one clicked with you? So what does the video has something to do about the song?

I think this is a great initiative you've started @soyrosa. I don't know how long it takes you to do the playlist, but have you considered doing a themed Steem world playlist say every two weeks? I'm sure it will be very popular as music is the best global language

Yes yes! I want to do a 'repeat' of this indeed so the list can grow over time :-) What do you mean by 'themed'? Like everyone adds music in a music genre for example? Is that what you mean? Would be cool to collect songs that are a bit more of the same genre so the playlists get easier to listen to :-)

Yeah, doing different genre playlist would be good to go with different moods or events like a chillax one, a calm and peacedul, blues, party, movie themes etc.....

Yes! Awesome! I'll try to make that happen :-)

Nice Steem world playlist @soyrosa :D

Thanks @wilhb81! Thanks for adding to it as well!

You really put all on a youtube list!!! I didn't pay attention and gave it a read properly this morning when I woke up and how I do! I sure will put the list on and listen when I write my next post. This is so creative Rosanne! (stole your name from @princessmewmew LOLOL). Thanks for the fun and yes, I have resteemed so others could have fun with it too! :)

Hahaha - thanks @waybeyondpadthai! Yes, I loved the idea many people can enjoy the list and I even hope to grow it over time :D It's so much fun and I've now discovered so many songs I otherwise would never have heard - it makes me happy! Thanks for adding to the playlist, your song is now one of my favourites, lol, and many thanks for resteeming as well!

Hey @Soyrosa Love your idea! We also use spotify to make playlists and share music from different artists we meet on our travels. Perhaps you would like to add some music from STEEMIANS! We just released a new live album on Spotify over the weekend if youd like to check it out. https://open.spotify.com/album/6YrOHMIMtyoFemK1F1a0mj?si=gkU1_cccTlidtNZqvPo4Qg

Hey @thetroublenotes! That sounds amazing! I will listen to it more tomorrow but the first impression is super cool :D Your music is 'all instrument' as far as I hear now?

Did you already hear about 'SteeMix Radio' launched today by @msp-waves? They made a 30 hour playlist with all-Steem musicians, see the post here: https://steemit.com/msp-waves/@msp-waves/officially-announcing-steemix-radio-1539153240 - are you in PALnet?

Yes we are! We will keep to get included on their station 😁
