Great picture and post. I really enjoyed learning about Vivian Maier!
Thanks @sjarvie5! She's worth researching, even just typing in her name + self portraits on Google will open up a new world for you :-)
I will! I haven't done my Art Talk series lately. I am sure researching her will inspire me.
Great! Tag or message me if you write a piece about her and what you like/dislike about her work :-)

Will do!
Remarkable photo, with a wow factor for sure. Here's to looking up!
Stay this optimistic and you'll make it to Bankok in time. Doesn't Steemit do fundraisers yet?
:D Yes, looking up really should be done more often! :D
Yes, fundraising is always a possibility, but I feel like I should try myself first - last year many people from Asia took the trip all the way to Europe as well, and I feel I have to try to return that effort :-)
Thank you so much for participating in the Partiko Delegation Plan Round 1! We really appreciate your support! As part of the delegation benefits, we just gave you a 3.00% upvote! Together, let’s change the world!
I always find it inspiring to see how photography becomes art with the right touch!
Thanks! <3
I had many mixed feelings about her (as a person) in the last couple of years after watching the movie. No doubt she was such an interesting character and an outstanding street photographer. Looking forward to this series. Great capture!
You're right, she had some nasty traits. It's pretty interesting to see how many 'gifted' people both currently and in the past seemed to have some questionable behaviour as well. The challenge remains to both appreciate the talent while not being blind for the bad traits and even call them out when we can.
Thanks for your comment, I'm looking forward to this series myself as well :D
Wow. Amazing photo, amazing article.
I'd never heard of her. I'd followed the work of several photographers in the 70s and 80s, but kind of lost my wonderment when the 'critical moment' got so expanded by manipulation in the digital age.
I haven't seen them. My buddy Roger's BIL has a leather case with over 50 glass photos from the San Francisco earthquake of 1906. So far as he knows they've never been seen by the public. A portrait photographer that felt guilty about profiting over the quake so never showed or sold them.
I'm really looking forward to your series.
Oh - those earthquake pictures sound like a goldmine, a real treasure. But I can understand the guilt, but there's for a lot of people some sort of comfort on seeing those pictures as well.
Thanks Tom, looking forward to sharing pictures in these series myself for sure :-)
