How to order your tracks for your next album release. 🤩🤩

in #music5 years ago

This is an industry standard album ordering flow that I think works quite well.    I am currently putting together a brand new album as many of you know with the talented @wav-dr and we are looking for ideas on our track placement for the full piece.     I think we will be going with this flow here below and thought I would share it with you and see if it might be helpful to you as well or if you had any other suggestions, hit my comments.

Track one - Give them the heavy and hard stuff, the full on energy tracks

Track two - Keep whats going on from track 1 for track 2

Track three - Pull down a bit for a slower song maybe ballad or sentimental downtempo

Track four - You will have invested a full on listener by this point and should run with something safe, probly your least favorite track

Tracks five - seven - Go with same feeling as  4 but build it up each track through 7, with 7 being the best track from 4-7

Tracks eight-eleven  Go with your more edgy and complex tracks at this point, your stuff that speaks to your artistic nature or your explorations.  This is your free roaming dreamer space.

Final track - Lay it on em heavy again, all the bells and whistles, this is how you want to be remembered, this is how you go out... Give them a quality banger track with good energy, that makes them walk away saying, damn that was a good album.
