The beauty of disrepair

There is no sadder sight than the neglected places.
Not abandoned, but simply neglected.
The abandoned are also sad enough. There is even an impurity of death in them.
When you see an abandoned house, what do you think of first? Isn't it that the people it once belonged to are already dead? Because who abandons their houses? Especially in Bulgaria, where everyone wants to have their own house (even me, because I still don't have my own). But who abandons his house - only the one who died.

But this is not about abandoned places, but simply about neglected ones. Like this park - a public park, once a colossal project, maintained and cleaned. Today it is sinking into ruin. Simply because it is not maintained and not cleaned. For no other reason.

There are people here every day. Its alleys are teeming with life. Older people, students, mothers with children, young and old. I suppose the flow of people here is the same as it once was, in its heyday.

It's just that its maintenance was stopped at one point and never resumed.

But still, I really like the view of this fountain. I told you that fountains are magical places. Even those that are made by human hand in this way. They continue to carry the mystique within them.
And imagine you're in front of such a dilapidated fountain (which is huge, actually)

The view can automatically transport you to another dimension, to another world, you know that?
The feeling is really very strange.

And I kind of liked the neglect and disrepair I saw that day, because no old and well-maintained building has such magical abilities as the neglected ones.

And I kind of like the neglect and disrepair of this city, of this country, because no other site can bring you this sense of magic and mystery, can immediately transport you to another era, impossible at this current moment, impossible for this current level of development of humanity in every other European country.

steem.jpgSoul's Detour is a project started by me years ago when I had a blog about historical and not so popular tourist destinations in Eastern Belgium, West Germany and Luxembourg. Nowadays, this blog no longer exists, but I'm still here - passionate about architecture, art and mysteries and eager to share my discoveries and point of view with you.

Personally, I am a sensitive person with a strong sense of justice.
Traveling and photography are my greatest passions.
Sounds trivial to you?
No, it's not trivial. Because I still love to travel to small and not so famous destinations.🗺️
Of course, the current situation does not allow me to do this, but I still find a way to satisfy my hunger for knowledge, new places, beauty and art.
Sometimes you can find the most amazing things even in the backyard of your house.😊🧐🧭|
